I followed for Gravity Falls and stayed for The Owl House, but I was REALLY excited to see you guys reacting to DuckTales. It’s a very underrated show that should definitely get more attention than it does. It might not get talked about a lot in the comments just because, like you said— it’s mostly MOMENTS that people talk about. There’s not a lot of theorize about. And a lot of the love for the show is what they put into the characters and their relationships and watching them develop throughout the course of the show. There are moments of REALLY good plot depth, but what sold it for me was the filler. It’s probably the first show with this much filler that hasn’t left me wanting to tear my hair out. You guys will definitely enjoy season three, and I look forward to seeing its reactions in the future!

but i meaN WOWOWOW REGARDLESS OF ALL THE CRAZINESS, Y'ALL ARE FINALLY DONE!! KORRA IS going to be a ride, it definitely has its ups and downs but I am so excited to see what is coming up. And I truly hope you haven't gotten dragged into the shipping wars with the Kataang/Zutara mess, that was a dark time in this fandom and man/womanchildren still insist on bullying others over it to this day... I thought y'all might appreciate the context from behind the scenes, but please, feel free to enjoy whichever you prefer and don't let those basement dwellers ruin your enjoyment for such an epic piece of fking art. In the end, we all know Zukaang would've been supreme anyways.

On Avatar/Zuko and Katara!:
So despite Zuko/Katara never being the final pairing for Brian and Michael (the creators), it was very popular amongst the show's writers and voice acting staff. And, it had gained enough traction from fans prior to S3 that Brian/Michael (or "Bryke") intentionally used it to manipulate trailers for conventions, to make it appear as though there'd be more focus on the pairing than there ended up being.
Light trolling/shipbaiting is obviously completely harmless and pretty common from creators, but Bryke are notoriously petty and angsty towards Zutara shippers in PERSON and have been known to bully and tease their young (predominantly female) audience at Q&A panels when questioned about the ship, which just crosses several lines too far imo. Not to mention Aang sort of ends up a self insert character for one of the two men, and as cute and harmless as Aang/Katara is alot of it is initiated by Aang without onscreen reciprocation so it's no wonder alot of the female audience always preferred Zutara!
IMO as a fan of what Zutara could've been, I don't hate the final pairing at all and don't wish any ill will upon fans of Kataang because fandom beef is petty and childish... But I will say, the main strength and shining light of the show for me has always been the platonic connections and aside from Suki/Sokka I think we really could've done without romance altogether. None of the other ships that we got were worth the screen time or healthy and good at all imo, a love triangle was best avoided but I think getting a group hug shot of the GAang right at the end with the sunset in the background would've been just as fulfilling, and with the way the creators decided to treat fans in the wake of people enjoying fandom by engaging in harmless shipping I think the ships will forever remain the only glaring flaw in the show to me which is a giant shame from such a perfect show (I mean, we can ignore The Great Divide, there is no Great Divide in Ba Sing Se etc etc HAHAHA).

I know I'm late on this, but Scott Pilgrim is criminally underrated as a movie. You guys brought it up during one of the episodes and I had meant to comment sooner. Easily my favorite film of the decade that would definitely be worth watching with you gentlemen 🙏

Personally I'd suggest doing the pokemon movies from 3 up to deoxys think that's up to movie 7 or 8. Past that it's very hit or miss.

Actually, time has passed and Charizard listens to Ash now he’s not a dick anymore and you can see in the movie that Charizard hasn’t disobeyed Ash at all.

There was a large fanbase for avatar even before the release of season 3. I was an active user in avatar fan sites, discussion boards, and forums. Also they hosted events at comic book conventions during the airing of avatar the last airbender. There were also Nickalodeon magazines about Avatar which had fan involved stuff. So I definitely agree with you that its just the writers poking fun because the fanbase was always arguing about who Katara was going to be romantically involved with.

There are several comics set between "The Last Airbender" and "Legend of Korra" (I think 4 in total). Additionally there are some novels about Avatars Kyoshi and Yangchen. All are fully canon.

Azula’s story is actually tragic. She was manipulated and brainwashed her whole life with the expectations of her father, and, unlike Zuko, she didn’t have anyone to guide her like Iroh guided Zuko. That girl needed some serious psychiatric help

I'm sad about Ducktales. Disney kinda screwed with them. It's nice that you guys have enjoyed it though. There's another miniseries you can watch on Netflix. It's called Maya And The Three. Also, the Looney Tunes Show seems to be getting more attention.

Overall the legend of korra has a lot of flaws, but it has a lot of amazing moments as well, its similar to how I feel about steven universe, there are flaws but great moments that save the show.

for those who don't know the Ducktales s3 teaser is a STRONG callback to Darkwing Duck again, as FOWL was the opposition to SHUSH (which in the new series was Bentina & Ludwig, but in Darkwing was where we got our spy villain's like SteelBeak as featured in the new lineup.
