She-Ra Episode 1 REACTION

Same, although I'd say He-Man & all were aimed more at my younger brother's age group (mid 40s now). I got all the Hanna Barberra Saturday morning copy & paste shows, he got the weekday afternoon made to sell toys stuff. At the time, Transformers was about the only one I didn't find completely stupid. This isn't the first reboot of a show from that era that's impressed me, but it's probably the best.

I hope the comments don't get too polarising as like with Steven Universe there are some pretty toxic corners of this fandom. I think it's for similar reasons actually - both these shows have dynamic, turbulent character arcs.

If you're just gonna keep making up things and putting words in my mouth then I'm not going to bother. But it's definitely not helping RWBY's case when someone asks you "Is it better now? Is it a remake?" trying to give it a chance and you get defensive and toxic, especially when the vocal majority of the fandom seems to agree that the beginning was really bad animation and that the original story was totally thrown away halfway through.

I'm referring to the og tho ice queen Dominic remade the first volumes in anime. The budget increases significantly after volume 2, and the story is so much deeper now and has a main antagonist that genuinely terrifies many. With many new locations characters subplots and lore etc. It becomes so much darker as secrets are revealed and the story unfolds. The first 2 volumes are definitely before the animation hits its stride but the show itself has some really good themes and plots the likes of which you'd find in one piece

I didn't know this show was tied to He man. He man was my big brothers favorite show. He is gone now, he'd probably love this. I'll watch it here for him. That meme you mentioned is awesome, that song is really good too, by 4 Non Blondes. I just thought of this. If you guys haven't seen Gargoyles you'd like that show too. This show was before my time. I'm an 89 kid. I remember seeing re runs of alot of these older shows.

in terms of character writing and emotional beats, this is the greatest cartoon of all time in my opinion. It tends to polarize a lot of people but I can't stress enough how good it is. And the music is phenomenal.

lol yes some people think that an over-arching plot is a NECESSARY quality for a show to be good. I think they're probably the same people who argue that filler episodes decrease the quality of a show (mostly animated) with an over-arching plot, which is, more often than not, not true.

As opposed to the parasocial comment above, my point was that I didn't care about any of that. I think I became a fan off of the youtube content of some of the individual channels, which is much shorter and lacks the pausing to joke with one another about things unrelated to the shows being watched... and I think I quite badly messed up trying to indicate that that's an element I was hoping to see less of, while seeing if anyone else here was of the same thought process I was.

Woo!! So glad to see you guys check out She-ra! :D I dearly love both Gumball and She-ra, so if ya'll watch both at the same time, I'm totally happy about it. I think a lot of people are confusing over-arching plot with good and no plot as bad which is strange since (and I've said this on an AT episode) She-ra and Gumball are two entirely different shows and two different genres lol They're both fantastic, and I think the poll accurately reflects that. It's just that Gumball is easier to jump into since you can't possibly get lost in it.

I think this was a miscommunication then... Parasocial implies that I think you are my friends and that I can self-insert into that. You are just a bunch of people I watch in my free time, that's it. All I thought I was doing was saying out loud, in a forum where other fans talk, an opinion about one aspect of the medium I didn't like. I love He-Man and The Masters of the Universe along with She-Ra, I'm happy that my parents showed me the 80s He-Man show and I got to watch it growing up even though it was before my time, I watched it all the time and then even the 2002 show and so on. I hope you guys check out the old He-Man and She-Ra show at some point.

This is why we were soooo adamant that you should watch it! The pacing is similar to Avatar in the sense that it just throws you right in, and keeps up the pace the entire series. So She-ra also had a cartoon that also aired in the 80s! All the characters in this version have the same names as the ones from the original show. However, He-man is not part of the story at all in this version.
