One Word - disappointed. I definitly have a lot of dislikes like yall. But S2 was better than S1. Yall missed so many emotional beats. If S2 was 20 something EP then maybe but 13? felt yall still could have seen all of it. You do you, hope u like the movie, I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully yall watch the eps yall skipped. Obviously as a fan of the show, I wish you were able to watch and honestly enjoy the full 2nd season... but, I also don't blame you guys for skipping ahead at all. The season finales and movie are definitely more in line with what you're interested in seeing, and that's fine. People just have different preferences, and I would rather have you guys watch the parts you're going to actually like, rather than having you get discouraged and burnt out by the goofier episodes that don't seem to be your speed. Obviously there are some plot points you missed as well (Splinter's backstory, Karai's introduction, the story of the turtles' mutation, Draxum's character arc, Cassandra bonding a bit with Splinter, Shredder destroying the lair, etc), but if watching the goofier episodes between those moments wouldn't have been enjoyable for you, then that's your call to make. I, for one, am still really looking forward to seeing what you think of the movie. Given what you've said about the season finales, I think you're going to enjoy it a lot!

We did and we’re completely turned off by the horrible way they handled episode 1 of this season. We have this show more of a chance then we realistically ever should have. 2023-04-29 23:31:38 +0000 UTCWhile I am disappointed with how things shook out for the guys, I can appreciate them giving it a good final chance and REALLY am glad they are doing the movie where we not only see Rise in top form but as close to untampered with by the story from higher ups as we will ever get (which just goes to show how great the show could have been had they just let the creators do what they wanted). I am also guilty of not giving Rise a chance until I happened to see that final battle against shredder on YT and that was the intrigue I needed to start the show and ended up falling in love with the characters It IS a pain to get through sometimes if I'm being honest and unless you love the character and the tone, I can see how this might not go down well. I'm at least glad they appreciated the end in all it's glory and thank them for not totally dropping it dead in the water.

Plus the thing with this show is that when it gets good it gets GOOD and when it gets bad it gets baaadd! Really the season 1 and 2 finales and the movie where the best they could watch (and a few other episodes here and there but necessary) and like why would we want to watch reactions to a show the reactors are not enjoying, like what is the point there?!... Plus is their lowest show on ratings, so WE share part of the blame here!

I get the irritation n I wish it was a actual proper listing of the episodes that were cannon. I enjoyed season 2 way more *exception of ep one that ep just annoyed the shit out of me* but the second half is basically cannon if I remembered right long story short whenever battle nexus starts for protection of the city is where it’s worth watching.

It’s too bad because I love Draxum’s Vegeta style redemption arc and Rise Splinter is so genuinely interesting to me his backstory episodes make me tear up every time I watch them.

The creator stated when the show ended that they always wanted to make this version of the turtles, unique and unlike any other. And I like the sort of mix of comedy and action they provided. It’s a lot like most of cartoons like avenger time and regular show. However, I can understand how could be off putting to some people. And it pains me that you skip to the end because you missed some generally banger episodes. What makes rises structure work for me is that most of the episodes or character driven and develop these characters more and more, even if it’s something mundane, it’s still develops them. Making more impactful moment harder. However, while majority of people are able to get behind it, I understand why some of you guys wouldn’t like it, and while it disappoints me that you guys miss some of the best episodes in the series, this just makes me even more excited because I know you’re gonna love the movie

I do wish you watched episode 12 as well, but it isn’t all to relevant to the fight. Its one of their lowest performing series so there isnt any real incentive for them to keep watching as this is a buisness for them and not just some shit they do in their free time but chose to continue it as fans kept asking for it. And saying that they were more open minded with shows that dont have a real plot until way later; those series dont come with any expectaions because of them being a stand alone series while TMNT has a long history of being a somewhat comedic series with alot of serious action which this show just doesnt have most of the time. So of course youre gonna have biases from past experiences or what youve heard about the series. Plus theyre entitled to enjoy the series how they want to so stop complaining

2023-04-27 20:17:31 +0000 UTChonestly, this! he’s definitely one of the better tmnt fans, somebody who’s willing to give new iterations a chance, even if it doesn’t instantly or even at all jive with him! i appreciate his authenticity too, and that they gave the series a chance in the first place, despite everything. i agree that they’d likely really enjoy the 2012 iteration, or even the 2003 iteration. those are definitely more grounded in what it wants to be, with no corporate meddling to hinder those shows!

I didn't even like the show until after I watched the movie. (I love the show now ofc, but my advice to others would be choose the movie reaction, any day of the week.) The 3 or 4 other channels who attempt to review this show even started it movie first, every single one of them, so you've actually already gone the extra mile!

2023-04-27 19:10:50 +0000 UTCand it’s ironic that ruff mentioned not caring about rise’s story, but then complaining that they didn’t focus on the story at all? not caring is completely fine and reasonable, if it’s not for you, it’s not for you, but did you really come in with an open mind? it honestly seems like y’all came in with rigid expectations of how rise was supposed to be, and how it should’ve been, and not doing the same for other shows, like adventure time and gumball– adventure time has no plot until midway through the series, and gumball has little, if not no plot at all. and again, i’m not knocking those series at all because i love them, but the bias against rise and your mistreatment of the show was disheartening to watch. you guys are entitled to your opinions, and please don’t think i’m implying that you should’ve pushed through something you weren’t enjoying, but if you weren’t enjoying the show AT ALL, so much so that you skipped the first half of the finale arc and prepared to get up half way through the finale and leave because you expected it was going to be THAT bad, you should’ve either skipped straight to the movie like some of us suggested or, more extremely, completely dropped rise of the ninja turtles altogether and moved on.

The studio was being bought, so they put zero investment into the show (look at the merch it is god awful). I'm not surprised that the sales were tragic. Like to watch the show a lot of it was put online with no viewing schedule or information. What I really like about the final episodes of season 2 is the demonstration that they knew what they were doing story-wise, they had great animation teams and fight coreography. The writing in the show when it got serious was amazing. They were challenged with creating x number of episodes with x budget and wanted to keep the animation budget for the episodes that really mattered. The movie however, is gorgeous. You guys are gonna love it.

2023-04-27 18:32:29 +0000 UTCOkay so the episodes "Goyles Goyles Goyles" and then episode 12 "The Finale Part 1" go into a lot of backstory for Splinter, why he acts the way he does, his mutation, and his family when he was still Hamato Yoshi. You don't need any of that going into the movie, but if you ever want to know about this version of Splinter and what all that in the finale with Shredder was about, I say watch it on your own time if you are curious enough. There is a really good TMNT vs Shredder fight in episode 12, if you're in it for those animation moments that pop off.

2023-04-27 18:29:38 +0000 UTCIn the end, it's always up to a person's taste whether or not they enjoy something, and no one can be faulted for that. Different things are for different people to enjoy. Personally, Rise's humor is often right up my alley, and the character dynamics and fight scenes are what made me love the show so much. The parts I don't like about Rise are mostly due to Nickelodeon's treatment of it which pushed it to be comedic and childish to a higher degree than the writers originally wanted (the tickle fight was definitely out of place). I do kinda wish you watched the first part of the finale though, as it has explanation for Shredder and the Hamato clan and expands on Splinter's backstory, as well as having great action. Season 2 overall does have great episodes and even when episodic, give insight to the characters and continue the plot and lore. In any case, I'm excited for the movie reaction!

The show creators for rise wanted a more serious show that you got to see glimpses of(you would have saw more if you watched part 1 of the finale in episode 12 but I digress, you guys do you and I just hope you'll enjoy the movie) but nick didn't want that, they wanted a silly show so they forced the writers to go down that route instead of their original plan and then cut its life short when it didn't perform well. Essentially tv cooperation cut the creativity of the show and then got upset when it do well when it wasn't what they thought.
