I understand, and you guys need to do what's best for you, but it's still sad (especially because I had rejoined your patreon specifically for Rise, haha). I'd still greatly recommend season 2, but if you're not up for it now, would you consider watching the movie at least? A lot of people consider it one of the best TMNT movies, actually, and it is on Netflix. I saw the movie before the show (it's actually what got me to watch the show), and the movie has it's own villains and storyline, so you shouldn't be confused by skipping ahead. There are minor "spoilers" if you haven't seen the season 2 finale first, but it's mostly just a bit about the team dynamic and one character's name that gets mentioned like, once at the very end.

Rise did not pick up a huge fandom due to a whole bunch of issues and sad corporate stuff. But season 2, and especially the movie, are just so great. I agree with other comments on here that the movie, even if you don't go through season 2, is just too good to miss. There's a reason it was nominated for awards for animation and character design. You don't need to go through season 2 to watch the film, and it would go much appreciated to your small subsection of TMNT fans. Might even get some extra gold subs for a month just for the movie alone.

But I understand if it's underperforming- the series was absolutely done a disservice both by the fact that the watch order varies wildly according to streaming service, and the series was rushed because it got cancelled. They were planning originally SEVEN seasons, if you can forgive how much they tried to rush the plot while still include wholesome funny episode for kids.

It really made me appreciate the series as a whole and I watched it before watching s2 because I wasn't getting into s1 at first either. Now, I've re-watched the whole show multiple times, and it quickly changed to my one of my favorites.

I agree with others when they say that season 2 is better, and that season one is a trudge to get through in comparison, but if it's not worth it it's not worth it! I look forward to if/when you resume season 2 and go through the movie, but I hope it won't be detrimental to y'all if/when you do. Cheers!

2023-04-02 19:09:35 +0000 UTCand it doesn’t really help that so much of season one’s shortcomings was a product of corporate meddling, like it’s abysmal how much the higher-ups at nickelodeon interfered with so many aspects of the show, like pacing and storytelling, budgeting, and the scheduling was downright darksided. i really don’t blame y’all for not enjoying season one, but i can confidently say that season two and the movie are so much better and more focused in what it wants to be!

The way my heart dropped when y’all said it’s going on hiatus 😭 I found y’all through Rise and joined Patreon for it 🫠 I’m really sad y’all aren’t enjoying it as much, it’s a really good show. Especially in season 2. But I understand! It’s kinda hard to keep up with if the zany humor isn’t your thing.
