I was genuinely impressed by your character analysis of her during your "Cry for Help" reaction. And the viewers are SUPPOSED to dislike her actions in that episode. That's like...the whole point. That said, a funny little thing I realized with Jamie's performance as Garnet (box-head and all). Because fellow reactors, Gallifrey Gals, released their reaction to this episode the same day you guys released Love Letters to Patreon, I learned that, when Jamie says "Humans aren't very good swimmers," the camera does the exact same zoom-in on the lips that it did in Love Letters when Garnet said "I'm a very good swimmer." Such a subtle detail that I'd likely never would have noticed had I not been watching both reactions.

2023-03-24 22:22:02 +0000 UTCThe old Greg sunburn theory (it's been around for many years) is about like Rose's whole body creating that light as her physical form breaks and disappears, like a much more intense form of poofing (it's also commonly assumed that instead of pushing out baby Steven the usual human way, she just poofed out of existence when the baby was ready, since they were probably pretty tightly connected through the gemstone.) But your interpretation is definitely more funny lol. It would be interesting to know how the birth actually happened in canon, since Rose was an alien and an alien with light-based form at that.

To me that was the worst thing any of em have done and it took so long for me to stop actively disliking amethyst and just be neutral on her.

2023-03-24 17:50:38 +0000 UTCNow that we got to the Reconciling episode I feel safe to say that this episode was the last part of a 5 episode "Steven Bomb" which was a group of Episodes that aired day after day Starting with "Cry for Help" and Ending here. These sorts of Clumped episode releases kinda plagued, for better or worse, Steven Universe for most of it's run after the First two (This one was the Second time they did it) Largely it seemed to exacerbate the long stretches of time that Steven Universe would be on Hiatus, since they would blow their load on a chunk of episodes in one week and then go on hiatus again.

The SU fandom has a long history of contentious feelings about Pearl and Amethyst, with some fans of one often being all "what about"-ist towards the other. It was truly stupid even at the time since both were portrayed as complex but flawed characters who had really good character arcs but to this day the grudges still simmer and some commenters seem to be projecting their bitterness regarding it onto y'all. It's silly and immature and I love seeing y'all react honestly to the series without worrying about how other people want you to feel about certain characters, so keep up the wonderful work! Loving y'alls reactions!
