I get that people tend to get bored with the less plot heavy stuff. I personally didn't enjoy much of season 1 my first time through. But rewatching it, it's all pretty important in building the world and its characters. So I enjoy all of the episodes now. But people for sure hated this ep when the show was airing.

I think folks just remember how frustrating it was the first time they watched the show, getting into the story, waiting forever for new episodes to finally be released only to have it be an April Fool's episode about some other show's main character that declares it's not canon and now you have to keep waiting for what you wanted in the first place. If the show had actually aired on a regular schedule without lengthy pointless hiatuses, I think a lot of the now hated episodes would just be seen as "meh" instead of "torture." That's honestly one thing I've enjoyed most about recent reactions. It's a way different show when you can just watch it, like a show, without months between crumbs to spend theorizing and hoping and raising your expectations impossibly high

It’s so interesting, I didn’t realize this episode was so polarizing. imo it’s so funny to see the gems have to deal with that kind of situation, mostly for the moment Hman lost it to, and his reaction only makes me love this episode more. Also this was the episode you guys almost watched before you realized it was the wrong one, which is probably why it didn't start at the beginning of the episode. You guys will also run into the same problem with Adventure Time where the order of episodes eventually gets messed up

The Uncle Grandpa show was known for this lol random annoying comedy style so most of the teenage SU fans HATED the crossover episode, and if I remember correctly it was around the time we got the crossover that people really started hating on the "townie" episodes and calling them filler

The way they are watching this is the way Wikipedia has it listed. Basically the only difference between your list and Wikipedia’s was the ‘Say Uncle’ episode. I also thought Say Uncle was in Season 1 until I saw your list and other people agreeing that it’s in Season 2. I don’t know why I thought it was in Season 1. Probably because it’s been years

I think the order they have is the one from Wikipedia which states the Uncle Grandpa episode is this one. I also thought it was this episode until I saw other people’s lists stating that it doesn’t go in this season. So honestly, the Wikipedia episode is to blame. you guys are definitely watching the episodes in the correct order for sure but because the last 4 episodes of season 1 should be seen together I suggest you watch them along with the 5th episode that comes before them rather than just watching 4 then leaving the last episode of the season on its own. The last 2 episodes are the finale together (they aired the same day).

I'm normally not one to tell content creators how things need to be but this is one of the few instances where I am 1000% in agreement the last 4 episodes of season 1 are essential to each other and when you're talking about The Return and Jailbreak specifically they are literally two sides of the same coin they NEED to be viewed as a pair

! Before even hopping into this, I see Say Uncle is involved. I guess they're not going off my list, as that's Season 2 episode 3. Oh well, thank goodness it's non-canon and nothing important happens in it. It does screw up the combo of 51 and 52 next week, though....mmm. Edit: Now that I've watched it, while it still sucks that they watched out of order, I still thoroughly enjoyed this reaction. Hman breaking during the Say Uncle episode had me laughing so hard, especially when he couldn't even form a coherent sentence.
