2023-02-11 22:10:06 +0000 UTCThe creators of the show have done a magnificent job of having Bill and Henry(protectors for Frank and Sam) show Joel what he's there for(to protect Ellie.) It's so grim but so good. The writers and everyone involved in this have blown every expectation I had out of the water for this.

2023-02-11 17:48:16 +0000 UTCI mean, there are still states where hanging is a legal form of execution today. You can look that up. If FEDRA represents what remains of the government... then hanging criminals isn't itself a crime. Without knowing what they are being executed for, or what extremes they've gone through legally... it's hard to say.

2023-02-11 15:38:05 +0000 UTCI think it was clinical when it came to killing infected, and the work programs were voluntary, so much, much better, but like I said, the Boston QZ was also shown doing hangings.

2023-02-11 15:30:17 +0000 UTCYeah, I was only talking about Boston FEDRA. We already know KC FEDRA was worse by what is said in this episode. It just seemed to me that Boston FEDRA was a lot more clinical about it. Like the kid that wandered in at the start and was infected. They gave the effort to make it painless. Their work programs were also voluntary, as Joel chose what he wanted to do. Without the context of what the people being killed had done, and the things being shown that Boston FEDRA there was still rather considerate... it's a rough take to just make assumptions.

2023-02-11 15:04:28 +0000 UTCNo, FEDRA was using hangings in that first episode, which are awful deaths if the nooses and height aren’t calibrated 100% correctly. Kathleen also says the her brother was beaten to death in his cell— even the original FEDRA in the Boston QZ was bad, and the Kansas City one was worse. Not that it justifies the treatment of, like, Sam and Henry obviously, but FEDRA Kansas City were torturers.

2023-02-11 14:51:21 +0000 UTCThis might just be my bad memory, but I thought we only saw Fedra shooting people in the head in the first episode. The streetside executions. I mean, I know that doesn't paint them in a good light, but at least it's quick and easy versus hanging and torture.
