while i can objectively say that season 3 is the best, because imo the show only gets better. i personally like season 1 the best. i rewatch episodes from this season the most.

I know they said its not good and they werent happy with it & even poked fun at it in "The Ember Island Players" but i cant find anything saying its retconned. If you find it please let me know.
I do agree its the worst episode. Its not bad though.

In NO way is The Great Divide a bad episode. It is however the worst episode in the series.
See how both things can be true?
Also ive never seen and cant find anything about this being filler at all or being a Nick production thing. Do you know where you heard that?

It is probably the worst episode of the series though. Like even at its worst the show is still good, but it is unambiguously the weakest episode overall.

Each Element is actually based on a real martial art too, so the moves and such that the characters use aren't random. Everyone is using martial arts like Tai Chi or Baguazhang. There's a few different styles, one for each element with some characters using their own version instead.

Book 2 is my favorite overall season (and i'm not just saying that because of bias from every "what element are you" quiz giving me Earth), but honestly if i give Book 2 a 10/10, Book 3 gets a 9.9999998/10, and Book 1 a 9.8/10...the entire show is that fantastic to me

People can disagree on things you know, personally LOK has low lows and extremely high highs, and book 3 is one of my favorite things to come out of the franchise. I like ATLA overall better then Korra, but individually, i love book 3 of korra the best. And they asked which book we liked.

Bro I am sorry but LOK was an absolute disaster of a show. It doesn´t even come close to any of the ATLA books. If you do not believe me look for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhS4a11jZOg

I actually kind of like the episode for a few reasons (I'm a big fan of Rene Auberjonois), but I think it speaks volumes about this show that the worst most filler-y episode of the series is not really that bad.

I think most people me included love season 2 the most because it's where the rest of the most important characters shows up. It's also the one where more things happens that will change everything in the show for the better.

I love all the seasons, but there is a point in season 2 that's so much to me... that it divides everything before, from everything after. I won't go into any details, but those who know, know.

Reminder that Katara's voice actress also voiced Amity, and some of the waterbending moves in this episode are ... given an homage, I guess? in The Owl House.

Fun fact, Jet is inspired by Jet and Spike in Cowboy Bebop! They mention it in the art books. Also I heard that cabbage man was a homage to the three old men in Cowboy Bebop but I'm not entirely sure if that one is true.

Books 2 and 3 are pretty interchangeable. They both are great for very different reasons. Book 1 is last just because it is a bit slow compared to the others.

Season 2 and 3 just build so much on season 1 it just gets better and better the more you watch and the development of the characters only get better as you see more and more of them interact and grow as characters

I don't think its even that bad. At worse it's very boring and contrived. It's just that everyone is traumatized by how many times they should rerans of this one episode.

Book 2 is where you get to meet some really good characters and 3 is where those characters become fully realized. But none of it would be any good without book 1 setting it up. I could try to pick it apart by books... but none of the parts work without the others. The whole series is built on itself in a way that some other shows just don't do.

I think my answer is book 3. Book 2 is perfect. I love the entire thing. As most of my favorite moments. But my favorite stretch of episodes in any form of media is probably in book 3. It’s like 13ish episodes of perfect.

Also wanted to say alot of the characteristics Katara has have been there since the 1st episode.
1. Easily trusting strangers (siding w Aang over her tribe)
2. Freezing water (when she froze Zuko's soldiers)
3. Temperament (her rage broke the glacier the freed Aang)

Fun fact, Amity from The Owl House is played by the same voice actor as Katara! So they gave Amity a little hip bottle with abomination goo in it so she can use her abomination magic kinda like Katara waterbends with her water sachel to pay homage to her role in ATLA !

Favorite seasons in order
1. Book 2 (the pacing is flawless and every ep hits)
2. Book 3 (has some of the best episodes of the series)
3. Book 1 (this is known as the "world building" season)
If yall are this in love with the first season I can't wait to see how you'll react to the other 2.

Book 2 is my favorite. You think these are bangers? Season 2 hits its stride in a few episodes and its just nonstop 10/10 episodes. This season is pretty universally considered the worst (not that it's bad at all). Seasons 2 and 3 just hit so hard that in retrospect Season 1 just kinda looks cute.

Do love how this show will tackle tough things, and make clear that things are not as simple as "All Fire Nation evil, all others Good". You can have good and evil people on every side, most of them not seeing what they are doing as evil.

If I had to pick Book 2 is my favorite.
And it’s funny that you’re seeing anime references but when they showed Katara’s water pouch she carries water in for waterbending you didn’t pick up on the fact that it was what inspired Amity’s ‘abomination pouch’ in The Owl House 😆
Also I knew one of you would ship Zutara at some point. It was inevitable 😅 I don’t personally ship it but I know a lot of people do.

Its really hard to pick my favorite book but since the finale is my favorite set of episodes im gonna have to say Book 3 then Book 2 right after since tons of episodes from that are amazing. Book 1 is still amazing but its 3rd on the list since the books only get better over time

It is genuinely difficult to pick a favorite book. Each one really contributes its own atmosphere, world building, and character discovery to create a beautifully told story that truly cannot be expressed without each of its parts forming the whole.

It's not really a mid season finale, but I think "Jet" is a good turning point episode. The show never shied away from intense topics (genocide, anyone?) but I feel like the moral dilemma of sacrificing civilian lives for the sake of a war is a bit of a gut punch to most people. This is when viewers realize just how serious this show is about its themes and storytelling.

I'm all in on Boom being a Zutara shipper.
"Every episode is so good." As it shows the next episode is Great Divide. I'm sure they already watched it, so opinions could easily be shared in the comments, but I'm curious about how they'll respond to it. More importantly...the episode after.
