[Followup Edit]: after further consideration I realize that for both pacing AND storylines the best possible pace to watch Avatar is actually in quads, but dual still works just as fine

The game Ruff was talking about was Nickelodeon All Star Brawl. There are two avatar characters in that game Aang and another character you have not met yet

Something I just realized is now I can understand why aang picked up water bending so fast. Bending is based on specific forms martial arts and Air and Water are the closest in forms. Aang had a whole group of people to teach him airbending so being able to match the same flow as water katas isn’t that difficult for him. While katara on the otherhand has explicitly mentioned by now that she is the ONLY water bender in the South Pole so of course trying to do “tai chi” is hard for her while aang is already a master at “yoga”

Btw,The winter solstice takes place December 21, the end of summer can be end of August or September 20th depending on who you ask. So he has almost a year

The episode before this was called the winter solstice, so it’s currently like decemberish and the comet gets there by the end of the summer so he has 7 or 8 months

Gotta appreciate how good the character work is that even when a character is doing something patently foolish or petty, you understand why they are acting like that and can even sympathize with them a bit.

Someone else had mentioned somewhere but the seasons do not get progressively shorter. Book 1 & 2 have twenty chapters each [Netflix compiled some episodes, which here is inconsequential as watching them in twos as you have been is the best possible pace]. Book 3 has 21 chapters totaling out to 61 chapters in the series. So you are actually going to get a very VERY balanced number of material for each book, even with the end of book three being a saga.

That's what I mean, the solstice is the first day of Winter and they have until the end of summer, so 8-9 months.

Winter solstice is in December. But you’re still right since the comet is supposed to come at the end of summer. Roughly 7-8 months

the show takes place in just under a year. the solstice in ep 8 was the winter solstice so he's got roughly nine months left till the comet comes (assuming we're counting "summer's end" as the autumn equinox)

I'm sure you guys will soon enough, but I'm hopeful it's even sooner, to realize that they're at the start of winter, so the end of summer is a solid 8-9 months away.
Edit: I just remembered what tomorrow's uploads are. Who else is ready for scenes that might be too scary for younger audiences?
