Looking forward to future episodes! It's weird that they had a previously on portion here; originally they didn't do that until early season 2.

To clear up your question on the episode counts: Books 1 and 2 have 20 episodes while Book 3 has 21. My guess is that the reason the player your using says 18 for Book 2 and 16 for Book 3 is for 2-parter episodes (B2 E12+13 and B2 E19+20). Those were originally aired together as big television events. Book 3 had two 2-parters (B3 E10+11 and B3 E14+15) that were each aired as big events as well, and then a FOUR-PART FINALE (B3 E18-21) that was a two-hour (with commercials) spectacle.

i've seen many people point out that katara is the same voice as amity, but here's another fun fact! dee bradley baker, the voice of appa, and virtually every other creature in western animation, also voices the likes of waddles in gravity falls and steven's lion in steven universe

This show doesn't leave that many mysteries un-solved (though there are a couple sprinkled through out that never get resolved) Really looking forward to more of this, I was pretty late to this series myself (watched it for the first time 3 or 4 years ago) and it's fantastic.

When they talk about the Avatar in the intro they're talking about Aang! Remember he went missing and froze 100 years ago at the beginning of the war started by the fire nation. So yea the most recent Avatar was an airbender. But it seems to be a random thing. They'd learn the bending of their people and then afterwards learn the remaining 3 types of bending.

In episode one Intro(which was longer than the normal one) it was mentioned it was about reincarnation, and that it was a cycle. Specifically to quote Katara "Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and that the cycle is broken"

Mae Whitman is the voice of Katara, and also Amity from The Owl House. There are some slight nods in Amity@ The Owl House to her character in ATLA.

NOT A SPOILER. Just an observation. Pay attention to the avatars uniform in the intro when he's standing alone on the rock. Doesn't it look familiar to some peoples you've seen already. BTW this show is not at all surface level.A lot of it is based on Buddhism.
