2022-12-04 13:03:02 +0000 UTCFunky Fact: There are many reasons why the show didn’t do so well when it started. The obvious reason being that the show is so different from the others. The creators thought that a breath of fresh air would be a nice twist to the turtles that mostly stayed the same their entire lives. They felt that making the turtles look different, act more like teenagers, and have a (as Mikey’s VA would say) “splash of cool and culture” would be a good touch. Another reason was that the show had begun literally as the 2012 TMNT was ending. The 2012 fans were not fans of the show because of how different it looked from the one they were used to, and Nickelodeon made them feel as if they were just pushing 2012 aside for something completely different. It was like a sort of culture shock for them. And lastly, Nickelodeon did not treat this show well. The marketing was absolute garbage, just look up the toys! They did my boy Donnie so wrong… It felt like even Nick didn’t care about the show, which was terrible.

2022-12-03 19:30:36 +0000 UTCThe first half of season 1 did not hook me at all😅 I was one of the tmnt fans who greatly disliked this when it first came out. I only gave it a shot when I saw some hilarious and fantastic clips from season 2 and I had to power through the first half. I don’t think this show found its stride until the second half of season 1 and it only got better after that. Still silly, but I found it much more consistent and funny. My favorite episodes are in the last half of season 1 and in season 2 and the movie is amazing when you get to it😁

2022-12-03 19:08:26 +0000 UTCThis episode DID come before Fast and the Furriest! Minotaur Maze is labelled as episode 007, while F&TF is 011! It's likely they planned to release this one first, but Nick didn't care about the consistancy in locations and characters. Also, the Minotaur Manager, while not having April's VA, is a pretty famous one in animation! Her name is Cree Summer! She also voiced the ref in the wrestling episode too! On Cree Summer: She was the person who would always voice a black character in childrens cartoons. Numbah Five and her sister in Codename KND, Valarie in Danny Phantom, and even Susie in Rugrats! Her voice is very iconic from my childhood.
