The show does stays consistent with him by making sure to never show another of his species since they were all apparently wiped out by the tick. (So I guess none of them lived off planet? but whatever.)

But you guys should know that most of the movies are canon so its good that you are watching them. I recommend looking up which episode they each come after. For instance "Secret of the Omnitrix" takes place after season 3 episode 12 of the OG series and has very important canon content for the next half of the story (they put it in as a 3 episode set in season 4 on HBO Max but it takes place in season 3). Also it is as you said all of the series except for the 2016 reboot are just continuations of the original series so it is kinda like a Shippuden situation

I'm glad you didn't look into it further because the footnote reference contains *heavy* spoilers for Alien Force/Ultimate Alien. Without spoilers, it looks like there were talks back in 2013 to make an anime series focused on Gwen as a sequel/spin-off. However as of 2022 nothing has come of it. No word on if it was dropped or if its trapped in development hell. I would assume the former.
