Also, funny Boom brings up Franky, Rebecca Sugar is a One Piece fan, and while not sure about any inspiration taken for Garnet from that, Pearl's design is based on Kiwi and Mozu, and two very geometrically haired women from the Franky Family.

2022-10-30 17:42:33 +0000 UTCI remember one of the reasons I didn't start watching it until later (I started watching when it was a good ways into the second season) was because of Steven's design, specifically his nose. But then after seeing it all over tumblr + my best friend being into it I gave it a shot and ended up really loving it. As for the watch order: Watch all of Steven Universe (seasons 1-5), then the movie and then Steven Universe Future.

2022-10-30 16:59:10 +0000 UTCYEEEEEEEES OMG bruh this is my favorite Cartoon Network show of all time I’m so happy you guys decided to start it. Season 1 starts off as a tame kid’s show but it slowly picks up and gets more dark and serious the deeper you go. I can’t wait for you guys to get deeper into this show. And just to let you know Hulu doesnt have all the episodes. The order is Original series seasons 1-5 -> Steven Universe movie -> sequel series Steven Universe Future. I think Hulu only has the first 4 seasons of the original series and everything else so you would need to find season 5 somewhere else. Also the creator of this show Rebecca Sugar happens to be a big anime fan so there are a few hidden anime references throughout the series!

The first season is pretty tame and not much plot relevant, but it gets crazier and waaaaay better as time goes on, can't wait to see you guys reaction

While Gravity Falls was much more "The Thinker's Show," or "Left-brained," Steven Universe was considered "The Feeler's Show," or "Right-brained. Since the two shows were consumed at the same time a lot, and Fandom works tend to cross the two over, they came to have a sibling relation among their communities. At least, at the time. Years later and new fans might be completely unaware of that.
