I usually do both layers of lineart before colors, but I wanted to it this way after seeing Cawie's Chiori speedpaint.
The gradient maps I use change from drawing to drawing, depending on the mood I want to set.
The exact order of how I do things isn't as linear as it appears here, it's actually quite messy back and forth, this process is more of a layer breakdown with the same vague order of events rather than a full timeline.

2024-02-04 14:34:46 +0000 UTCThe second gradient map, yes, over every layer alongside the paper/canvas textures The first gradient map goes right over the grayscale shading, below the overlay colors.
