An unconventional commission!

At the beginning of May, a former classmate of mine from art high school asked me for a commission for the birthday of her daughter Claudia, who turns 7 tomorrow! We have been friends with her since 1992, I couldn't say no and I put her at the top of the list, also because I was invited to the birthday and tomorrow I will deliver the printed poster to the little girl. It will be framed in her bedroom. In addition, I also printed some stickers of this design, so she can personalize her notebooks :)

It goes without saying that she's a huge fan of the SANRIO characters...and who doesn't love them? I remember that as a child I saw Hello Kitty and My Melody for the first time and I loved them, I wanted something with them but my mother couldn't find them, I lived in a poor neighborhood far from the distribution of these novelties.

Then in the 90s a Hello Kitty store opened in the center of Rome and I went there buying with my savings a pencil case, a wallet, pencils and a piggy bank, a padlock, stickers, a notebook, and stamps... and I remember everything because (apart from the wallet which I lost) I still have everything! XD

But everything was too expensive and then I didn't buy any more SANRIO item but I swear that if I had received a drawing like that as a child... I would have exploded and I would have loved it forever!! So I hope Claudia is as happy as I am! :)

So tomorrow I'm going to a children's birthday party in a kindergarten, I don't know anyone except my friend, I'll be embarrassed and I think I'll park myself at the parents' open bar where they will serve drinks, pizza and porchetta! LOL

EDIT I now realize that a kindergarten for a 7 year old's birthday sounds strange for the age... but the place in question organizes birthday parties in the afternoon for anyone, privately, because it has a park.
