Happy Halloween!

Why have I always put off doing a Sherlock Holmes themed illustration?

It's a perfect quote, given PBB's era, and he is my favorite literary character! Because he was simply so precious to me that I didn't want to ruin the opportunity to mention SH in something that wasn't really special.

Before leaving for London I promised myself that I would go to 221B of Baker Street to visit his house museum, this month, and that I would remember this experience with a pinup! Also because it happens that there is also Halloween at the end of the month!

So I went to Baker Street! I took some fantastic photos in Sherlock Holmes' house and also bought a couple of very nice souvenirs. It was wonderful, and I think it was right to wait all these years because the perfect opportunity to design this Halloween card has truly arrived!

Sherlock and Watson are a couple that look really good as costumes, why have I never seen them? There are murders, mysteries, blood and horror in SH stories, Sir Conan Doyle was a great fan of horror and mystery, the Victorian era was the birth and natural setting of many characters that populate Halloween night. I hope you like it and send it to your friends as an e-card!

You can find it in this gallery

and don't forget that there are also other illustrations here, including a drawing of Mary and William as the protagonists of The Phantom of the Opera , Violet the witch and Mary the vampire!

I must say just from looking from the preview, Mary and William cosplaying as Sherlock and Watson is freaking amazing! ^o^ I'm glad you held off on this, Vanessa. :) Because when you visited the Sherlock Holmes museum in London, it makes this picture that much special. X3 What a treat for the month of Halloween~ :3

You're a Sherlock Holmes fan? How interesting :) I've only seen the Basil of Baker Street movie, and the two Sherlock Holmes movies. However, the books are praised to the heavens, and I've read a little about Doyle. Apperantly he eventually got tired of writing the series, charged extraordinary prices to continue writing them, but people still paid the price because they loved the series so much. :) Anyway, love the picture, and I'm happy you had a great time at Baker Street. I didn't even know it was real. :)
