Little VIDEO process update! $2!

Today I want to make an unusual and surprising update.

After finishing the new page I started working on the two new tarot cards commissioned by Generic Phoenix ( the first ones are in the commissions album: https://pleasurebonbon-next.com/rewards/pbb-next/pinups/custom-sketches/ ), which as you know are first developed digitally and then the design is transferred and traced by hand and colored with markers. It's a long and unique process, where no mistakes or second thoughts are allowed, once started!

Using only my mobile phone, it occurred to me to take some shots of the process, mounted with an app (directly from a mobile phone) which I then sent to Gianluca to fix the definition and make an update!

I'm not a filmmaker so I thought I'd skip the creative and technical process of a cool and professional edit because it would block and slow me down. If I had thought "I have to do a cool and professional edit!" I wouldn't have even started filming...

Because I look at the substance, and I want to spend that time finishing that job and immediately starting another one, where I have to be concentrated and not stressed by having to worry about editing, that I have to learn...

So here you will only hear ambient noise and music ( I've been listening to Japanese music, expecially from the 80s for a few years )and there are interruptions and breaks, very home-made! XD

What you will see is really very crafty, especially the final part, so please don't be too harsh on your judgement.

I see many very professional reels on IG but I also know that behind those few seconds, extrapolated from a long process, there are hours by assembly. Again, if I got to thinking about that, I wouldn't, too much performance anxiety, which is my problem. I've always told you that I suffer from performance anxiety. This happens when you are confronted with the whole world and with very high levels of performances that are at the top of the feeds, with thousand of likes. But I believe they just the tip of the iceberg, underneath there are millions of "normal" people like me who just want to draw and can't be competitive on social media, for many reasons...And competitiveness can be demeaning and a block for people like me.

But you have found me, you have discovered my style and my works even though I am not publicized and not very active on social networks, and I am so glad of it! :D

I hope you will appreciate this video even if it is not professional and...unfortunately, I didn' don't think about doing it horizontally. Sorry! :(

I did it vertically, automatically, because in my head I have the format of the reels and stories, which is vertical! I did not think about the final result on the site :/

So my first question for you is: "Do you prefer the next videos horizontally?"

The second question, that should have been the first... : "...and, would you like to see more of this WIP's videos? Even with ambient noise and such imprecise editing? XD".

Finally, thanks to Generic Phoenix that I'm "using" without him knowing to do this experiment! XD He did n't see any preview of his first drawing , he did n't know I would film it ( me neither! ) And he's seeing it now for the first time: SURPRISE! XD

Finally, if you also want a commission like this, after the second design ( which I'm starting now ) I'll gladly do it for you!

I will update you for every detail!

I'm looking forward of our comment :)

You're very welcome, Vanessa. :D Oh sorry for getting Fusilli mixed up with Mi-Ke. @.@ But I'm glad the paw of approval is still lucky. XD That means Generic Phoenix will be lucky getting his physical version of his commission. ;3

Kanbe Namura

And I absolutely approve of what you said in the first comment :)

Thank you kanbe! Your comment about the memories of YT's "archaic" videos is great XD Me too like the genuine ones that don't have excessive effects or are not professional, if I like the subject. In fact I follow even creators who can't do anything but record and put on, with ambient noises, because I think it's right to support even the simplest people who don't know how to do stunts, otherwise it would be discriminatory to rely only on cool editing, and people who are beginners then get demolarized and don't open the channels. So I also follow the simple ones ! The cat is Mi-Ke this time, not Fusilli. Mi-Ke chan is a Maneki-Neko, therefore a lucky cat! :) So having touched it now it will bring luck on that card! XD

I was not expecting this kind of post, Vanessa. OoO I have to say this was quite a treat for all of us. :3 It's so awesome seeing you upload videos to show us what is going on. ^w^ Now~ onto your questions. :) #1. I personally prefer horizontally because I watch and download your videos on my computer more than on my phone. </////< BUT! I do got something to say though. :o If you ever want to upload these type of videos on your social media accounts, then portrait will be fine since those platforms prefer that format. :) But if it's just for Patreon viewers, then horizontal (if possible). ^_^; #2. Hell to the yeah I want to see more WIP videos like this one! XD Seriously, I LOVE the ambient feeling of the video a whole lot and I'm not joking. <3 I get so tired of the "professional" videos on social media because they're just trying to have the social media algorithm pick them up and advertise to other non-followers. While your video takes me back to the early days of social media and youtube of being a fantastic artist showing off your talent. :DDD Plus it feels like I'm watching you at an artist alley at an anime con drawing stuff for the con goers. ^o^ Again the video was amazing seeing Generic Pheonix's commission piece come to life in your video, Vanessa. :3 Also did Fusilli give his paw of approval for the picture in the last seconds of the video? lol ;3

Kanbe Namura

Oh how lovely! And the card turned out great :) I do think I would prefere it horizontally, and I would indeed like to see more like this. A little behind the scenes of how you draw the comic would be interesting for example :)
