CCC: Controversial Commission Clarifications

This post because I received some messages and read comments about my last post regarding the last commission (custom artwork included into the higest tier at the moment closed) for kanbe: Mary with Annie ( an OC of BBMBBF).
Before start I ask all those who have doubts to write me your feedbak and honest opinion by PM, in order to collect the opinions of all of you patrons about it and decide what to do in the future, since I promised another 2 pieces to Kanbe...but I will talk privately with him to accord how to proceed in regard.
I had to delete the post because: 1) someone found it unpleasant, disturbing, and I am loyal to my Patrons and respect everyone's sensitivity, even if it was ONLY ONE who didn't like this post and its was a $ 1 tier dollar, I would have taken it off.
2) Someone said it was dangerous, and someone else remind me the policy of Patreon warning me about the real risk to be banned... (wow, maybe I dodged a bullet, I was reckless!)
Anyway you will still find the drawing in the gallery of my site, I cannot lie or hide my art, it would be a lie.
I want to clarify why I have done that request, but keep on mind that I need to make mistakes and experiences correct myself, to improve and understand how the world of FAN ART works.
1) One reason, in fact, is that I considered this request a fan art, PBB-Next there will never be relationships between minors, never, only friendship, but this was a commssion and I am quite "new" in private commissions, I've done very few, so I have a lot to learn!
So I though about this request, a fan art since Annie is not my character, the two girls are not coming from the same universe and this can only be a fantasy, they could never meet in the "real" world, in my world of PBB-Next I mean.
So even is not canon, I supposed that Annie has read PBB's book and is having an erotic dream with her favorite character from the series.
2) But the second problem is that Annie is too young character, but honestly I did not "realize" in the sense that not being a character of mine I did not feel the responsibility, since its author is in agreement with these representations.
On the contrary I disagree, and disclaim if someone rappresent the young Mary with the young Betty or the young twins ...
Yes, their appearances as young people in PBB but are flashbacks, actually they are adult characters.
So besides not being canon, I don't want them to be represented sexualized by little ones because you might think that PBB is a comic of this type (NO! PBB-Next is only made up of adult characters!). Unlike the Little tails comic, so I wasn't distorting a character, I was following the nature of that character and naively it felt okay...
3) The third reason that got me to act was sheer kindness.
By now you know that kanbe made me a private donation in Dec that will allow me to work better for all of you, the budget for a new computer, and a new cell phone (which I could change in December). I think kanbe is a very sweet guy, I've been talking to him for a long time and I think I know him, he's a good guy, I don't judge and I don't censor his preferences, because it's his business, it's his private life.
So you'll think: Vanessa took this commission for money! >:(
I am not defending the tastes of kanbe because of his donation, and you will soon understand why, and I proposed the commission, he did not want anything, and I said "give me a topic of your choice".
He had been showing me BBMBBF fan art ( privately via email ) for almost 2 years, and even when he was my Patron for a few dollars I always told him that I still found them well done and they didn't bother me by virtue of point one (no canon fan art) but I also got some sexy fan art and SFW from Kanbe, I really want to say that!
The only "problems" have to do with the Little Tails characters.
So I assure you that I did not switch to the dark side of the force because of the money received in December, but because with kanbe I had long been used to the fan art spin off with the characters of little Tails, and I was used to it, his request is not it shocked me.
And so I said, "Uh? Okay." without thinking too much.
I probably committed an imprudence and a slip, but it came spontaneously to me to immediately accept the request, out of kindnes.
But I want to reassure everyone that this is not my way, this commission with young characters of Little Tails ( not PBB-Next young characters!) was a one-off, una tantum.
But I had promised kanbe at least two more pieces ... so now let's see.
IF I do them, they will be the last commissions of this type, I assure you, and I will not post them on Patreon, whoever wants will find them on my site, because I am not a hypocrite and I do not hide what I do. The Internet always knows everything and only the clumsy deny having drawing something compromising which then turns up XD
Well I'm also clumsy though, I admit, because this thing was a beginner's mistake ...
Let me understand how to manage the commissions in future to not hurt my work and reputation but more than all your feelings, the rules and the law !! Thank you :)

I'm sorry for my late response to your post, Vanessa. :( My school has been a little busy so I didn't have time to reply. Plus.....I wasn't sure if I make a long post or not. @-@ But for everyone to know, I'm understand Vanessa's decision to delete the post. :o And I'm behind any action she takes. :) If anybody has questions for me, you can just leave a reply and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

2021-01-18 10:05:16 +0000 UTCWhen it Rains, it pours.., but Rain is pretty nice at times when its the opposite temperature of oneself or the day.., that said, all make mistakes(even if its suffering from success..,) being honest i didnt even notice the lack of secondary charactertics on the other artists character you drew..,(but that may just be due to being quite used to seeing art of short+curvaceous women amongs other art~shortstack~ that i didnt tell)

Forgive me if I will copy this part of answer to others but it is in common with other comments, probably unconsciously or tendentially, I drew Annie bigger than she is, her proportions and shapes, she just looked low, and the pouf chair helped to deceive why a seated person appears shorter. But whoever knows the character knows her age. But "fortunately" 'it is very difficult when dealing with furries drawn in anime style not to give a precise age if there is no context, a comic, to tell you the years old. Because it is a style. Unlike with humans, like lolicons, there you can't lie.

2021-01-15 16:46:05 +0000 UTCUnderstand why the post was removed. I didn't realize earlier it was a younger character either. Though it was just the way the character was drawn. An honest mistake, none of your fans or followers will judge you for making the commission. You even stated you had approval from BBMBBF on the piece. As long as the issue is corrected best you are able thats all you can do. We still respect your artistic ability and sense of artistic pride. You made a good, well drawn piece, if even a little misguided, it is still your work. Keep making your art, your way, and always keep improving and impressing us.

2021-01-15 16:04:20 +0000 UTCI didn't realise the character was "young". I've seen a few images by this artist and almost all of them have had small characters. I thought it was just an aesthetic style.

2021-01-15 15:52:45 +0000 UTCWhen it comes to taking commissions, in my opinion, its a good idea to have a list of the kinds of art that you are willing to do and not willing to do. I myself have been very selective of whom i took on as clients, avoiding the projects that either made me feel uncomfortable, or were inappropriate, or sometimes even both. In fact, just last year, i made a similar goof on a personal piece i made last year buy including a character who is normally underage, but i've made sure to age them up to the appropriate age. But because of where i originally placed her in the pic, it was hard to tell how old she was, so after some quick explaining and some editing, i was able to avoid being viewed as someone i was not. You gotta be careful with these kinds of things and sometimes, its best to just keep the finished product between you and the client. But i would not let this little goof hinder you from doing more commission's in the future. Even the best artists make mistakes, from those mistakes, we become not just better artists, but better people in general. In a way, being an artist who accepts art commissions makes that artist a bit of a weaver of dreams, able to create for those who are unable to draw like the rest of us and that for me is something very special and i consider it to be a huge honor and i am glad to be able to share my artistic talent with others and you should too, cause you are damn good at it and that's the god honest truth. ^^

2021-01-15 15:25:29 +0000 UTCThank you! I just told the truth, so I make amends, and thank all people for pointing out this mistake on my part. Because actually, now that I have thought about it, that design is not in line with PBB-Next or even with patreon's policies. They are right.
