I waited until the last moment to tell you what my Christmas Holidays will be like because every day, really, there are news and changes ... but for now it seems that we have the definitive DPCM!
Until a week ago we were going towards a lockdown, it was said that you could not leave the house to go to other municipalities, as well as regions, which was tragic ... my relatives are in Rome and I in a small municipality , a town, on the border of the Grande Raccordo Anulare of Rome whose first road exit is the neighborhood of my parents, a few kilometers separate us.
Luckily there are updates now.
You can leave your municipality, but it is possible to go to a maximum of 2 people at home with only 2 people, therefore a maximum of 4 people per house, and only during the day, because there is a curfew.
My parents live alone in 2 so I will be able to stay with them for lunch at Christmas and the day after which is Santo Stefano, another holiday.
I know that many of you have Boxing day on December 26th, but we Italians glorify a saint https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Stephen%27s_Day
You should know that the Italian Christmas holidays can last up to 13 consecutive days. Children do not go to school from 25 to 6 January, adults it depend. State workers are on vacation 13 days if the society closes for vacation, while merchants and entrepreneurs decide on base of their wallet. For example, if I have my own company I can decide how long to close, if only 25,26,1, 6 ... or all 13 days, if I can afford it.
This is because, as mentioned, the 26th is a holiday, then there is New Year and on January 6 there is the Epifania https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphany_(holiday)
The night of the italian witch: La Befana !! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Befana
Why this premise?
Because since so many people, and their children, take their holidays all these days ... they go around! In short, at restaurants, shopping, visiting markets, visiting places, friends, other relatives ...
So our Premier extended this DPCM from 25 Dec to 6 Jan! So we will all be home! Also because many shops will be closed, so as to prevent people on vacation from moving around.
So, since there is a curfew, I will spend Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve at home with my cat. Then I will go to my parents for lunch on 25 and 26 December.
The other days I will work on the new PBB page but I would also like to relax and write my 2020 diary, a journal where I tell all the important events of each year that I have marked like notes on my notebook and tell to "the me of the future" especially the positive and beautiful things that have happened to me during the year.
I have so many to write! Starting with the adoption of my cat Fusilli on January 2, 2020 ... ( to which I have not yet had the time to make an artwork, even a simple one, sigh ...) up to all the emotions experienced in this strange year ...
So I want enjoy my time eating Christmas sweets accompanied by writing and contemplation XD
And how will you spend your Holidays? Let me know in the comments :D
HAPPY HOLIDAYS and HAPPY NEW 2012 YEAR!!!
and...
GRAZIE MILLE to have been my Patron this year, and always with me!
Cari abbracci ( warm huges )! <3
