And is online! https://pleasurebonbon-next.com/comics/volume/1/page/22
This time I did a huge job. It takes many days to draw but above all to color, color is the most tiring part.
But it's also the design of the houses, and keeping in mind the proportions between people and buildings, you can't make people bigger than doors and windows, then the perspective...
But the most important thing for me was to create the atmosphere. How can I represent on one page something that is displayed in my head as a cartoon? So I created an overview of the city and many small scenes of background characters, and then I found a music.
During this work I listened to a lot of classical music to relax, especially Mozart. In fact, Mozart is Austrian and in Innsbruck, the city that inspired me, along with the Italian town of Moena, there are many references to Mozart. Oh, on a side note, I have always forgotten to say ... of the Bon Bonscalled "Mozart Bonbon" or "Mozart balls" XD that are delicious! How I would like to eat one during this job !! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozartkugel I ate them when I was in Austria and in Trentino Alto Adige, they are extraordinary bonbons!
Returning to the subject ... I listened to a lot of classical music during this work and I chose the BKG music for this scene that I invite you to listen to, especially if you are those who have access to the 300 DPI panel that I made available starting from the Gold Rewards , in which you will be able to see all the small scenes of life of the inhabitants! All the tiny details, in the dimension that I drawn them! See them all because I have committed myself to making every character interesting in some way ... alive, despite the size.
This panel is an exclusive for Patrons, because I never published a picture at 300 dpi.
The BKG music that I've chosen for the scene in which William arrives in the city is called Barocco and is a piece from the band Rondò Veneziano, directed and composed by maestro Gian Piero Reverberi (who is now 80 years old).
I've chosen a piece by Rondò Veneziano because it is classical but modern, because is composed and played in our era, so there is an anachronistic element exactly like my comic! PBB is a Victorian comic strip written and designed in modern times so and there are small anachronistic nuances and inventions, because it is a work of fantasy inspired by a time and an atmosphere of the past; exactly as Rondò Veneziano is, born in 1980 , inspired by classical music.
(if you want to know more about RV: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rond%C3%B2_Veneziano)
The song I've chosen, Barocco, is perfect for this scene, in fact I listened to it at least 10 times XD
My first suggestion is to listen to it with headphones, while you explore the page and imagine the situation that William sees around him! :)
At the beginning the music is quiet ... because Bon Bon seems a quiet place, at first sight, for the first minute you are relaxed and you enjoy the fresh morning air, the mountains and the landscape, then ... you arrive in main street and everything takes on a different rhythm, frenetic, cheerful, stimulant thanks to the sound of the drums! Drums in a classic opera!? Yes, this is the cool thing, it's that touch of modernity, of rock, that I also put in PBB! ;)
Suddenly, William feels the drums in his heart! XD
