RIP Cintiq

Ok ... uhm ... dear patrons unfortunately I have some bad news, really bad for me especially because I'm desperate, let's call it bad luck.
I 'll show you in the next post the new page that I finished today with a thousand inconveniences because as you will see from the picture I had to create lettering and baloons with a laptop with a very small ( and too bright ) screen and no tools except the "finger mouse" ( I don't know what it's called that part of this laptop where you move your finger to do things ...).
From the picture you can see my precious Cintiq which I bought by making enormous sacrifices ... and which is dead.
I'm done.
In a moment ... while I was working on the final touches of this page, the monitor turned off, while in my headphones I kept listening to an mp3 song... Panic.
When I've disconnected the Cintiq from this laptop on the small monitor my work appeared, everything was still intact, so the computer wasn't broken thankfully ... but after borrowing a second computer where to install the Cintiq to see if that was the problem ... unfortunately I had the confirmation that my Cintiq doesn't turn on anymore, with no computer, it is broke!
I've already read dozens of posts in various forums, there's nothing to do.
So ... for me it is a tragedy, because I loved this tool with all my soul, was my very first upgrade in my job and it cost me a lot, but right now I'm desperate because I have nothing else to work with, not even a simple tablet used because when it broke I threw it and bought Cintiq.
So here are my conclusions: I can't buy another Cintiq22 HD because I can't afford it, so I'll buy something else, Chinese maybe.
This month I will spend all of Patreon's money on this emergency ... and luckily I have you !!! Oh my god...what am I could do without your support ??? I would have ended up because if it broke during my poverty I would never have been able to afford a replacement again.
You guys can't understand what lifesaver you are right now for me.
I am blessed.
Ok, of course I won't be able to buy another Cintiq from 1500 USD for the next ... 10 years? But who cares, I will take something that costs half, I'm sure it will be the same for me, and maybe better!
And then I will sell the parts of this Cintiq on ebay to amortize the expense. I discovered that I can sell the pen with all the tips (which works) and the stand separately.
But guys, I have to warn you that I can't work right now ... I can do two things: write and make new sketches and scan them to give them to you as next rewards. Obviously I will make many layouts of the comic but only sketches because I can't ink or color.
I hope you won't abandon me, this is a very embarrassing moment ... I apologize in advance!
And this week I will take "advantage of it" to prepare a portfolio to "sell" in a special reward, so if you wish you can support me by getting my work on paper at your home too!
Sorry again, it's just bad luck, I'm sure it will change. I will keep you updated on what I will buy and as soon as I get home my new tablet you will be the first to know! Maybe I'll do an unboxing and show it to you. But I still have no idea of what I will buy.
V.
Thank you! Yes, I've talked in Italian with a very knowledgeable and kind operator this morning! I've written in my last post what he told me. I am looking at dozens of reviews and have also consulted Amazon about the Huion warranty, they have guaranteed me a two-year warranty. I'm thinking and evaluating carefully! :)

Trackpad! XD Unfortunately the warranty has expired, 4 and a half years have passed...you will read in the new post what happened in the meantime. I am going to boy a Huion. I've talked with Amazon support and they told me that if I buy it fromAmazon it has a 2 year warranty! Not bad. What do you think?

Si si, non ci penso proprio di investire di nuovo tutti quei soldi! Anche perchè se poi deve rompresi dopo nemmeno 5 anni di utilizzo non ne vale la pena...

I used a Wacom tablet Bamboo from 2003 to 2014, then I thought I was big enough to make a quality leap XD 5 years ago the Cintiq had no rivals, there was only one on the market and it was the top. It gave me enormous satisfaction, it's wonderful, but I can't hide my disappointment because I expected that it wouldn't give me problems like breaking suddenly after not even 5 years ... that is, I was expecting a less drastic problem for the value of this object. How do you feel with Huion? It's in my wish list currently!

No, it isn't. I bought it on Amazon 4 and a half years ago.

As for the laptop- to change the screen brightness, press the Fn key and the Down arrow. You'll see it also has an icon of a sun on it.

Oh no, I'm gutted to hear about this; I'm so sorry.
I will certainly be hard to know what to replace it with but definitely do NOT rush into choosing a Chinese brand whatever you do! You don't want to have to pay again for a bad product when it also breaks. Please don't worry about taking as long as you need to be sure you make the correct choice.
Wacom make other, cheaper models but I don't know if these are suitable for your needs. I completed a silly online quiz but it just told me I needed a Cintiq!
Considering its price, might it be worth having it repaired rather than having to find a different one? Here's Wacom's repair page for Italy (in Italian!)- https://www.wacom.com/it-it/support?guideId=014-734&stEscalation
I really wish you all the best with this Vanessa.

Damn I'm sorry to hear about that, I also agree with Kanbe, check if it's under warranty to get it replaced. Man it sucks when they break down all a sudden.

First of all....I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear about this news (about your tablet). :( For what has been happening in your life, I'm truly sorry that this had to happen to you, Vanessa. ;_;
As an IT technician, I HIGHLY advise you to check the warranty status on that Wacom tablet RIGHT AWAY, Vanessa! If it's still under warranty, you might be able to get a replacement from Wacom! :o Please check right away. :<
I tried seeing if there were solutions to your tablet model, but.....from what you posted, it could be a bad power port on the tablet. @-@ Which is....not an easy fix. :( I ALSO recommend calling Wacom's technical support and ask for help there too. Just to cover all of your bases.
Vanessa, again I'm sorry to this. D: However I will NOT STOP donating to you, Vanessa! You're an amazing person and your artwork is truly astounding! <3 Like Silvador, if I were a rich man I would be more than happy to give you $1500, but sadly I'm not. :'( But I'll do my best to support you and your work to the best of my abilities! I recommend looking on Newegg for a new graphic tablet, and I would also make sure to look for reviews on any tablet that peaks your interest.
I wish for you to get some MAGNIFICENT luck soon, Vanessa! <3
P.S. To add on to what Silvador said, the touch pad is also called a trackpad. :)

Sorry to hear about the tablet, V. Personally, I think you shouldn't hold back when getting a new one, but, you gotta go with what you can afford, so I hope you can find a good one that suits you well in your price range. (also, if no-one else has said it, the little "finger mouse" [insert Betty joke here] is usually called a touch pad)
I think it would be nice to see what you draw on paper. And it's a good thing you can do that. Still being able to draft future pages will help when you finally get your new tablet and can work on new pages. Part of the work will already be done. :D
It's a shame I don't have a spare grand and a half lying around, I'd be more than happy to buy you a new tablet, myself.

You still have my support. My deepest condolences for your loss. I can't imagine what i would do if my tablet stopped working.

I'm still with you through thick and thin, Vanessa! Sorry to hear about your Cintiq. Heck, I'm still wishing one of these days (more likely a higher priority once I get my old art skills back) that *I* can eventually be the proud owner of a Cintiq. I've been an owner of a Wacom tablet since I think 1995-1996 until around 2012. Surprisingly enough, the reason that I had to ditch the old Wacom tablet wasn't because IT died, but rather my DESKTOP PC died (and with it, the last computer I owned that had a serial port). Currently, I now own a Huion H610 (my first USB computer tablet).

Is your tablet maybe still under warranty? Looking up their website is says they are limited warranty for 3 years in Europe. Just don't know how long you've had it.
