(Furry) Pride Month with Rachele!

This is an extra surprise, a project that I wanted to finish and present during the pride month. As many of you know the month of June is LGBT Pride Month, but there is a connection with this original character that I created in 2004 as entry for a mascot contest for FurBid-SF with the concept of pride, freedom and peace, and the rainbow flag is the link.

So this is the story.

On June 17, 2004, Ayukawataur reopened the idea of a mascot for  FurBid-SF, or, to be more precise, as FurBid-SF is a community, a group  of mascots. Of the many mascot ideas submitted, five were selected by  community vote on August 15, 2004. Breeze returned, this time to take  the greatest portion of votes (62.04%), followed by Rachele Raccoon  (40.74%) created by Vanessa Santato (author of Pleasure Bon Bon Next), Faria, Keesa, and Seru.[3]

In the attachment you'll find the original drawing, the model sheet of Rachele from 2004 that was uploaded by me and voted on the site.

I want to say that for me it was exciting and amazing to win by placing Rachele second in Breeze in the statistics, because Kacey was the most famous and listed furry artist, good and loved, while I was a newcomer and nobody knew me! 

An Italian without a great furry career behind comes second in an international contest ... this made me so happy and gave me confidence in myself!

 I felt in seventh heaven because I was actually part of the furry community and from that day I started to open commissions and sell every print I put up for auction, I couldn't believe it ... I was selling and sending my art from Italy to people around the world ... at the beginning of the internet! :O Wow ... it was incredible. It is a very beautiful memory! <3

I still I keep all the letters I received from all over the world from my bidders, because since there was no paypal they sent me the money in an envelope! It's the truth. I received cash, dollars, closed in an envelope !!  XD

Ok, back to Rachele.

She is a symbol of freedom and pride for being a furry character, that's why she has a rainbow tail.

It represents the freedom to draw or love any furry character, any kind of drawing style, species, sexual orientation.

Rachele was conceived with the concept of Peace and Love and that is why she wears an outfit with a 70s-style appeal ;)

And now I want to tell you this thing: Rachele is a free use character! 

Since I donated it to Furbid it has become of all, it is a character that represents liberty because it is free, and since Furbid no longer uses it as a mascot I consecrate it for the fair use XD and anyone can draw her as he please, I only ask you to remember the author ^_^ but for the rest I give you all the freedom! :D
