Some info about the PBB EMA!

1:  It was drawn directly on the wood with a green pen, inked with a black  pen, and the following day I bought a set of 6 felt-tip japanese pens in a  COMBINI to add some more colors. The white lights were made with a liquid correction pen that I had brought with me from Italy ... in anticipation that I would keep a diary with the notes of my trip (which I did) :)

2:  Did you have noticed that all the characters has 5 fingers instead of 4 for hand ??? :O

I've decided to draw 5 fingers (for the first time!) to my characters for a very precise and valid reason. In Japan characters with 4 fingers bring bad luck! :( Number 4 is an unfortunate number in itself. This derives from the fact that you can pronounce yon or shi, the latter with phonetically pronunciation is similar to the ideogram    that representing death!  D:
The characters of Japanese anime and comics always have these variations of number of fingers also towards the furry and anthropomorphic characters:  5, 3 or 1 (Hello Kitty and Doraemon).
A reason is because the Yakuza use to cut a finger to the traitors and this act is called yubitsume 指 詰 め! So when you see a man with 4 fingers in one hand it means he is a deplorable person! :O
So I've decided that in Japanese homeland it was better to draw 5 fingers to my characters, just because I believe in respect of the traditions in  foreign lands.

3:  Since this tablet will be burned in January, I was thinking of celebrating this event by drawing a copy of this design for you Patreon to give you as a reward :)

I am pleased to have shared this information with you. I learned it when I was studying animation from a Japanese person, in age, who had worked in Japanese animation many years ago. She said she was nothing less than a former student of Osamu Tezuka! :O Infact although Tezuka was inspired by Walt Disney, and his characters were humorous, he never drew 4 fingers... as the Seven Dwarfs or Pinocchio ( wich inspired him for Atom Boy). Even Bagi the cat has 5 fingers. Same rule for Hayao Miyazaki, he drawn all his antropomorphic characters with 5 fingers, like "Sherlock Hound" and "The Cat Returns"! Naturally if the characters are of US import the Japanese can not oppose and modify the cartoon, like The Simpsons. But, speaking of The Simpsons in the same way ... even Matt groening yields to the 5-finger taboo in ONE character in the whole series, GOD. When God is present in the Simpsons he has 5 fingers! A superstition by Matt Groening too ?? That's new info to me about the 4 fingers thing. I know that shi (yon) and shichi (nana) weren't used for multiple things I just never knew how big they were on them. Very much an eye opener~.

Aw, thank's Vanessa. That's very kind of you. i also never knew about the whole "number of fingers" thing in Japan, that's pretty cool.
