A lot of people complaining about The Owl House's LGBTQ+ representation don't actually get Disney+ or cable that includes Disney XD anyway. Disney cares much more about their product selling than they do about it being controversial.

I can see corporate types being squeamish about the that, especially in bigoted markets like Russia or Indonesia, but stealthy cancelling the show by not giving them a full 3rd season instead of just editing/censoring for those markets?? Were there really a bunch of people with not much going on in their live getting publicly mad about the gay teenage witches? For me orientation (and lack of orientation) is a non issue and I don't understand people hating for this, but I'm also in my bubble in the suburbs of a progressive town.

2022-08-13 20:55:12 +0000 UTCIt's so stupid how many people still seem to have a problem with gay people even existing in any form of media, especially if we're talking about relationships like Luz and Amity. Like, these two have one of the cutest and most healthy relationships I have ever seen in a kids-show, but they're gay, so it's a terrible thing. I get the problem with gay characters, that, instead of being a character that is gay, they are THE gay character and that is all there is to know about them. But those are luckily kinda rare.

They might not even perceive the actual sexual deviance of straight characters in kids shows because of a bias toward straight relationships, but that's a common reason for trying to keep that stuff off of kids' TV.

I'm part of the LGBTQ+ myself and to have the support from creators like you is really really wonderful. I myself was born and live in Denmark, Scandinavia, and all around me and in basically every country I've visited in EU has had gender neutral bathroom stalls like you've shown, even my schools have had them, hell back when I was very young(like 7-9years old) after gym they just had all the children use the same big group shower since we were kids and didn't care about genitals. But anyway I went and lived in Canada for 6 months and was in the US a few times as well, and I could not use the public bathrooms, yeah they were disgusting but also, such big ass gaps between the door and wall. Anyway, love you guys and what you do, I might not. be able to be a Patreon member next month, money be tight and all, but again love ya'll and wish you the best!

It'll swing both ways and the "stopper" is the latching part and it only shuts when latched. My workplace was like that! But yeah they aren't like the most common type of stall door! And nobody should be worried about "What if they peak into the stalls" when other women peak into stalls half the time to check if it's being used. It'd be the same exact thing..
