If you're still paying attention to all my story shenanigans, here's another thing I'm excited that I got to bring to life from my own back! I shared this on IG a while ago but I wanted to share the actual process here! It was my first time using cosclay and honestly, I think it's my new favorite clay for builds right now!
Scroll through the photos - for the most part, it will show the whole process. To make the even scales in the clay, I used the curved tip of my clay tool and imprinted them in each direction for the pattern (I can share a video later if needed, I know it's hard to explain??). Then, with some hot glue, hope, and several layers of paint, it all came together!
Now, this clay is one you BAKE. I didn't find the airdry stuff I hoped to use, but I made it work! I shaped the claws carefully against the sword and then made sure the bottoms fit into the pockets I wanted to them to. Making sure they held their shape, throw them in the oven at 275F for 30 min (each clay has their own times and heats to bake at!), and voila! You've got your dragon claws! Then, the base sword was a post halloween sale from spirit halloween!
So, not a real tutorial but some guidance if you ever want to make something like it!
