Frontman's motivation seems to be that he wants to mentally break Gi-Hun. HE doesn't have faith in people anymore and he wants to break gi-hun's belief that these people deserve sympathy. . He likely lost that faith when he participated years ago. I think the backstory about his wife is true. His step brother sort of discusses it with the mom. His wife was ill and he borrowed money but it came off like a bribe so he got kicked out of the police force.

2025-03-25 12:24:57 +0000 UTC-There was an easy out for Frontman in Mingle as well. He could easily hide if he didn't make it into a room. If Gi-Hun didn't make it, he could just do that and leave through the entrance without anyone noticing in the chaos. -If you remember back when 001 was revealed as Frontman, he looked straight back at Gi-Hun with a glare as if he was saying "i'm going to show you"/"you asked for it"/etc type of look.
