Attack on titan time?

Melvin

I was sooo confused about ambessa too. Basically, the black rose eventually gained control over her. She was interested in viktors power and wanted it.

Hi, First off loved the reaction to this series and am glad that you liked it. If you are still curious about the world of Runeterra (the "earth" where League Lore is in) and don't mind shorter stories/narrative musik videos there is alot riot games has published over the years on their youtube channel. The most recent two musik videos are arcane related. "Blood Sweat & Tears" is about Embessa's backstory and "Welcome To Noxus - Bite Marks" is continuing Mels story for a short while with her arrival in her country of origin: Noxus. There are many more beautiful MVs and short stories, but the story and context in those might be lost to you not knowing league lore beyond arcane. Still If you ever decide to check them out i would love to see your reaction to it, especially the arcane related ones since they both were animated by Fortiche (who did Arcane). If you really want to dive more into Lore i recommend the youtube channel Necrit, since he is the defacto League Lore guy. I personally love the Lore, but i understand if you don't have the time and energy to take a deeper dive, since it is very large and time consuming. Anyways thanks for this reaction!

Yes please!

In 100% honesty, this season was a huge disappointment, certainly some high highs and the art is somehow even an improvement over the first season, but overall the storytelling was just comparatively weaker than the first season. Not to mention they totally just sidelined the whole Zaun-Piltover conflict. still a good season of television overall tho. I’d say a solid 8/10.

You guys should check out the Welcome to Noxus - Bite Marks cinematic that follows this that was released a couple of months ago. Thanks for watching this series its one of my all time favourites

I would love to see you guys reaction to Attack On Titan

Singed: The story of a man who almost destroyed the world, to save his daughter.

AOT is my favorite animal. I hope it wins. Shows I'm dying for them to see are Cobra Kai, AOT, Invincible S3 and Punisher.

Timothy Mills

It was a little rushed imo. They could've made S2 twelve episodes, that way there'd be 4 arcs while S1 has 3 arcs.

Timothy Mills

Oh yeah, Attack on Titan would be a good one. That's a weird, dark, kind of messed up show, but it's REALLY good. My Hero Academia is also a good show. I haven't finished the whole thing, but the bits I saw a few years ago were really good.

Saimeren

They never explain the black rose stuff.. We don't know. Obviously we know that Ambessa slept with someone and gave birth to Mel who is a mage. The black rose wanted Mel to know she was a mage, but then... They don't really explain why, or who that big bad was, or why Mel even cared to kill her, who who their real face is.. There's a lot of loose ends at the end of season 2. They tried to cram so many story lines into 9 episodes, but didn't give any of them time to breath. Season 1 was so much better, because it was two stories. Jace and Viktor, Vi and Jinx. Then they had Caitlin and a few other side character along for the ride, and that's it. But with season 2, it was Viktor's god compled, Jace with his weird time travel and wanting to destroy the Hextech. Vi and Caitlin, Vi and Jinx, Jinx and Vander, Jinx and the kid, Echo's weird time travel story, Ambessa, Mel and the Mages. Piltover vs Zaun. It's just too much for such a short season. And none of it really wraps up nicely for my taste.

Saimeren

Absolutely second Severance!

Ashtn

Love that y’all got to see this masterpiece- For the next Patreon exclusive I’d love to see Severance on the poll…even though I’d probably rather see Invincible S3 first, Severance or Shogun are genuinely two of the best projects I’ve seen in quite a long time In regards to an anime, I always start friends with either Kaguya-Sama Love is War or Full Metal Alchemist, depending on their sensibilities.

BichaeldeAngelo

someone probably already explained this but alot of people think jinx is still alive, in the first episode of the show powder see's a aircraft and says one day im gonna fly in one of those, the series ends with that exact same aircraft type flying off and then it flashed "the end" in the jynx artstyle, theres other reasons too that i dont feel liketyping out lol, glad u guys enjoyed it

Cory Chavan

What a finale! Truly a masterpiece. So glad you guys watched and reacted to this. Easily my favorite show I've ever seen and I can't wait to see what Riot and Fortiche do next!

AdmiralZhou

Loved the Arcane reactions. Personally for me Season 1 is 10/10 a complete masterpiece while S2 is more like a 7/10. I just feel it was a bit rushed in places as Viktor goes from being a "Prophet" to the downtrodden to the Final Big Bad Boss of the series within an episode. Good sure, but not as great. PS for next show I ask for Attack On Titan or X-men Evolution. Please & Thank You.

Jason Jeffory

Perfectly analized and explained. Thank you! It's those who unable to walk away will be hurt the most by their own actions.

Maskie

@shotaboylover Actually producers when asked if jinx was really dead said that they will leave that for fan interpretation, however when asked the same about jayce and viktor they said oh them boys are obliterated XD

Also interestingly enough, there was a line that alternate reality Powder said in Ep 7 about Vi that mildly foreshadowed the tragedy of what happened in the ending that ultimately ended in both Vander and Jinx's death. "Vi was strong because she was afraid. Her fear of losing us was what made her fight so hard." This entirety of Arcane has been on breaking the wheel and finding the will to walk away for many characters, and each of the characters reach their own perspective of that in retrospect: Vander, who put down his fighting gloves to walk away and take care of his family. Viktor, who eventually realized the err of his ideals and choosing, though rather extremely, to break the cycle (the countless timelines where everything ended up in tragedy) and believing in Jayce to keep trying with each iteration to subtly save the world from the version of himself trying to destroy it. Silco, who put down his ambitions and desires in the end of S1 just to protect Jinx, whom he saw as his own daughter. Ekko, who subtly chose to believe in the alternate reality Powder and break the wheel by going back AND attempting to save Jinx's life when he had already given up on her before. It led to the creation of his time device, the saving of his reality and his world (everything he wanted), even if he did lose someone he loved dearly as a result. Jinx, who chose to actively save her sister and walk away instead of giving in further to her insanity and losing herself + all the good that she had learnt and found love with Isha and others. Caitlyn, who understood that out of grief and love for her mother, she had been erring in terms of tyranny, and sought to break herself free from becoming someone like Singed, whom did all those monstrous things in the name of love. In contrast to those who are UNABLE to do so: - Singed, who turned into a monster and turned others into a monster in his inability to let go -> we see him succeed in reviving his daughter in the end as the mechanized version of her, but to what extent did his child lose what she originally had...we'll probably find that out in later seasons. (I'm assuming his repercussions for his inability to let go not coming yet) - And Vi, who could never let ANY of her family alone, who saw herself a little as the protector, someone that needed to save her family because they always needed her. At first it was Vander, then it was Powder, and then it was Jinx. This cycle has led Vi back to one thing that was always part of who she was in a way, violence, whereby her fists would enable her to fight hard because of her traumatic loss in her youth making her unable to let go as easily as others to those that she held dear (even if they were completely changed). It was the reason why she wanted to redeem her sister, and it was also the reason why she collapsed at a changed Vander's feet instead of saving herself. And in that inability to break the cycle herself, we end up seeing Vi and Jinx clashing, especially in the beginning episodes and the previous season. Vi would chase, be unable to accept the change, and then fight to regain back what was lost. Hard. It was a terrible cycle that she couldn't break herself out from, because she loved so deeply and lost so much. So someone had to make that choice for her, as painful as it was. Someone had to break that wheel, that toxic cycle that was pulling them close and yet breaking them apart...and its tragic that it's Jinx. But in forcing Vi to let go and letting both her and Vander fall to their deaths (yes, i know jinx is alive, don't jump me i'm just saying in THAT moment), this acknowledgement of their deaths is what allows Vi to finally stop running in circles and take a new fresh step forward. And it both so poignant and yet so painful that this choice was so vital to both Vi and Jinx's character developments: Vi for learning to let go, and Jinx for finally being able to break out of that self-fulfilling cycle of being a Jinx, where her active choice FINALLY saved someone...and it was the person that she loved and cared for the most.

This show was quite a journey, and rewatching it with you guys was too, this show will probably be in my top 5 animated shows of all time and in general my top shows ever, the Art, Story and Music all came together to create this amazing show, can’t wait for what’s next from the universe.

I suppose

My hero is so Mid. If you are gonna do a typical popular Shonen make it Dragonball or Hunter X Hunter much more value there. DB for its classic and inspiration on the genre nature and Hunter X Hunter just cause its actually really good and elevated the genre. Btw i mean mid literally not like ina bad way. Its just fine.

ShotaBoyLover

I dont think Jayce or Victor are gone. They were absorbed into the rune and the bird might have that.

ShotaBoyLover

As others have said Jinx is alive, its basically confirmed with the hints given. Less obvious and something I havnt seen others talk about is what happened with Jayce and Victor. They seemingly got absorbed into Jayces rune and then the 3 eyed Raven from Noxus goes to where they were. I think the bird swallowed that rune. Like I said noone else ive seen has mentioned this anywhere on the internet so i may be wrong. But thats what i think so they may pop back out in the noxus show. Mel Jayce and Victor may have a love triangle there haha. Also Singed daughter is alive but very robotic now.

ShotaBoyLover

Thank you for this reaction series, I've waited so long for many creators to tackle this one since I was obsessed with Season 1 and I was over the moon when yall started S1 months ago! I'm right with you guys with your Season 2 opinions too, as hyped as I was to watch this season, there was something with the flow of the storyline that was just a little harder to catch and hold onto this time around - not that it was terrible, on the contrary, it was just not as 'seamless' and digestible as S1. I'm also someone familiar with the lore and Ive played LoL for years, so I don't think it is a matter of understanding extra Info beyond the show to help inform the viewer. What they gave us throughout the season was a little tough to ingest all at once, imo. I think Jen hit the nail on the head when she broke down the Ambessa/Mel scene. It's only inferred that Mel is going after the Black Rose (this is the name of the group) and Mel made her motives known in that moment she interrupted whatever was happening in Ambessa's last moments. The Black Rose individual wasn't to be trusted and Mel played both Ambessa and the BR person to gain the upper hand - to what end, none of us really know for sure yet, but Mel isn't one to sit idly and has reason and the means to go after the Black Rose now. Someone has mentioned already that there is a cinematic relating to Mel and her arrival in Noxus that released this year (LoL releases yearly cinematics to welcome in each new annual Season of play, iirc, this year is newly broken into 3 seasons, and there's a hunch we might be getting 2 more cinematics, but nothing is confirmed). The cinematic was created by the same animation studio behind Arcane and I think it's very much worth a reaction to if you guys enjoyed Arcane and have time in your schedules, "Welcome to Noxus - Bite Marks" (it's about 5 mins long). Insofar as how the story concluded, there was just a bit more emotionally I was hoping for. We got stellar moments, but I wanted to see just what Ekko/Jinx said to the undercity to get them to fight in the final battle, if Ekko and Vi ever spoke after the dust settled (they never spoke on screen to each other this season, they last saw each other in S1e7), and maybe just a tad more insight on Jayce/Vik's relationship to make that ending scene that much more impactful. I, like Jen, could not expect their relationship as being the crux of the resolution at the end here and I would've hoped for more weaving in of their dynamic throughout the series to make that facet of the storyline really shine. All in all, i think I still really enjoyed S1 and S2 together, it's one of the best works of entertainment put out to date, imo. Idk if Id call it all a masterpiece, but it gets pretty dang close to peak entertainment for me. The music and visuals went all out consistently and I was always wowed with the vocal performances. I thank you guys again for giving one of my favorite series a reaction and wish yall well on your future series!

SO! A lot to unpack here. First think first. Last image being a ship flying away is a direct call back to one of the first scene in 01x01 when Powder say that one day she will fly a ship like that (that EXACT one actually). Between that, a very fast purple lightning getting away of the explosion and Cayt looking at the schematics of the airways while grabbing Jinx's bomb rest, it's almost certain that Jinx is still alive, just does know that she can't stay where she did so much bad stuff and had so many traumas. That out of the way, the end of the fight between Mother and daughter is not explained. but one of the spin off will be in the Noxus Empire, the place of origin of the Medarda family. Since Mel seems to go back there with the armies, she will probably be in the next show. But we probably will not continue with Cayt, Vi, Jinx, and of course not with the fallen ones. (there is like 2 or 3 shows spin off in the works, from what I got, nothing is officially announced tho.) Very happy that you enjoyed these reactions. It's probably the best animated show ever, and one of the best shows I saw in the recent years. :D

Ker'Mhod

Mel used the Black Rose to eliminate her mother, but she also had another motive, she was also using her mother as bait so she could find out the true identity of the mage - hence the "I see your true face deceiver" line. She still hates the Black Rose for what they did to her brother and friend so she's going after them now. You'll see a bit more of that in the Welcome to Noxus music video. Also there are quite a few hints that Jinx is still alive.

Christopher Struthers

Arcane is masterpiece. I really like character development - speacially Jinx. I was really in bad mood after finale but if you look closelly you can see what really happened (In context Episode 8 Silco talk with Jinx = I think the cycle only ends when you find the will to walk away, Pink line in explosion, Caitlyn looking on blueprints for ventilation shaft, End with airship (Powder in season one has mentioned that she will fly on this things)) Jinx has find will to break cycle and walk away and left people what she loves behind. We will definitely see Black Rose in next project with another Noxus hereos. So i hope everything will be expain later and i hope it will be in same art style.

its so crazy that the one person who won, the one who reched everything he dreamed of and more ... is SINGED ... hes the single winner of this story

Great reaction 💪

Alissonbecker94

you guys definitely gotta react to the Noxus teaser

Owen Halloran

There is a spin off in the talks that would be set in Noxus which is where Ambessa is from. From what I've heard Arcane barely scratched the lore of League of Legends. Also, Rip Jayce, he was my favorite character.

Timothy Mills

So glad you guys have finished Arcane. I'm excited for the next patreon exclusive poll. If you guys AOT on there, I'm definitely going to vote for it. It's my favorite anime.

Woohoo! Here we go!
