Jayce (the inventor who they stole from in episode 1) lives in Piltover (the topside) and it's heralded as the city of inventors which is why the small yellow rat thing Heimerdinger is the Dean of the College while also serving as Head of the Council for the entire city. Jayce isn't being banned from researching the arcane he's being banned from the academy which means he can't invent anything at all! Our misfit crew from episode 1 are all from the undercity, it has a bunch of names they call it throughout the episodes (The Lanes for example), just depending on where they are. We see some characters from the video game it's based on so far. The obvious ones are Vi (Pink hair), Powder (blue hair), Jayce, Heimerdinger (fluffy scientist), Ekko (Little man), and Caitlyn (Jayce's friend, daughter of Jayce's patrons).

Jayce, most people don't like his character, they think he's arrogant and some just don't find his character interesting, but he's my favorite character.
