Hey man not saying you guys have an ego to begin with but imma stroke it anyways. You guys are apart of giving me comfort in my life and I'm truly grateful. Thank you for what you do. I hope someday I can meet you guys. We can battle it out about who the best spiderman is and maybe I'll say something that causes Jen to say MY full name. Please keep up the good work! Thank you.

As someone who’s read the books and watched the movie a million times I’m gonna try and answer some of your questions. They called the guy and girl from district 12 morphlings because they were drug addicts addicted to morphling. In the books Peeta actually is missing his leg and has a prosthetic from being bitten by the dogs in the end of the first book. Gale calls Katniss catnip because when they first met in the woods he misheard katniss when she said her name and thought she said catnip. A lynx ended up following her around in the woods which he thought was ironic and the nickname stuck. The books do mention the fashion in the capitol a lot because it’s supposed to show the obvious class differences between the capitol and the hunger games. One thing to keep in mind throughout these movies is that Katniss is 16 in the first games and 17 in the second she’s young and confused with what she wants with Peeta and Gale. Also she’s busy worrying about keeping everyone alive. Gale also never said anything about liking Katniss until after the first games. In the first book she’s said that she never really thought about having a relationship with him because she’s too busy trying to feed and keep her family alive.

The books are written from Katniss' point of view and so you hear (read) her internal thoughts and monologue, a lot of her motivations and interactions with other people are impossible to catch in the movie for this reason. The confusion around the romance is a pretty common one among reactors. The first film and the first half of this one is an act, by the second half of this film I think it's clear she's developing genuine feelings for him.
