Gen V may not be required watching but it is definitely helpful and informative for plot lines in Season 4. Also, bonus, Gen V is probably as good if not better than a few of the Boys seasons. Definitely try to watch Gen V before you get too far into Season 4.

And agree with what Jacob says, it's not like you won't be able to follow this season if you haven't watched Gen V, but there are a few significant plot points and people that got introduced in Gen V first that might feel a little random/out of nowhere for you now. Also, this season does spoil a bit of Gen V, but it's still worth a watch. It's just as good as the main show imo.
