If you're struggling with passing after the latest FC 25 patch, you're not alone. The gameplay has shifted, and adapting is crucial. One of the biggest changes is the defensive AI, which now tracks back less effectively, making precise passing even more important.

I made a mistake early on by forcing a pass when I should’ve reset play. Instead of skill moves, I could have passed back, rotated the ball, and built up play more effectively. The key is not to rush—waiting for the right moment to exploit gaps in your opponent’s defense is vital.

Another major takeaway is how timing impacts passing and chance creation. If you wait a fraction of a second too long, the opportunity disappears. If you pass too early, your attacker might be offside. I demonstrate how properly timed through balls can break defenses and why holding onto the ball and waiting for the right angle is more effective than blindly sending the ball forward.

One tactic that is working well post-patch is the L1 trigger runs. If you’re struggling to break down defenses, triggering manual runs and combining them with quick passing will open up space. I also highlight how AI positioning has changed—players stay onside more than before, so utilizing first-time passing and quick combinations is more crucial than ever.

Lastly, I discuss defensive passing and why switching play is key. If you’re under pressure, don’t panic—move the ball around, switch sides, and control the tempo. The new patch makes pressing more aggressive, so if you’re careless with passing, you’ll lose possession easily.

Thank you. It can be difficult knowing when to build for a player “you KNOW you want to keep” as you say…and to get a player for free for folks like me who aren’t swimming in coins and refuse to dump money in the store ✌🏽

Hi Lans, Saw this by chance, please ask in the VIp section will be faster there to respond as I miss these notifications, The issue is there isnt that many good CAMS it depends on your budget you can get however Mia Hamm 89 or even that new Olise card or TOTY James even a cheap Reiten if your asking me, Best is okay but probably not worth doing

Neal

Dear Mr. NG, Newsflash: I’ve been needing 3 good CAMS. Currently using 4213 (Yamal TOTY blueprint in RW, Nico Williams EVO LW). But want option of 4231: I’ve got Nwaneri, doing Maradona…do I build for Foden HM?…or do I do Best? Can’t wrap my head around the downvotes for Foden considering the stats. But maybe doing Best is best option for me since he has inside forward ++ on LW too, therefore replacing Nico if I like 4213 better than 4231. P.S. I possess just under 1m coins.
