Happy Monday, everyone! Let me just say this upfront—I strongly dislike working with capes in DAZ Studio. They can be a nightmare to manage, and my recent updates to my Powergirl model have reminded me just how tricky they can be. In the comics, Powergirl's cape is draped over her left shoulder, fastened with a round gold clasp and a chain that crosses her upper chest and tucks under her right arm. It’s a cool look, but unfortunately, the 3D cape asset I have was designed for the old V4 character in Poser, and it’s not cooperating with my G8F model. The first two renders below showcase this cape, and as much as I want to use it, it just doesn’t work—it doesn’t drape, flow, or billow the way it should. It’s such a pity because it has the right design, but the execution is lacking. So, I turned to other options in my limited cape wardrobe. I tested one by SickleYield (seen in the third render, butt shot), which is functional but still a bit tricky to work with. Then, I tried a cape by Smay, which is featured in the final two renders. The Smay cape has a great shape and flow, and I think this is the one I’ll stick with moving forward. While fine-tuning my Powergirl model, I couldn’t shake the thought, "Her boobs need to be bigger—Powergirl's chest is iconic." So, in the final render, I gave them a size boost to better match her comic book proportions. On a final note, I’m nearing completion of the first installment of the Wonder Woman vs. Dark Reign comic. If all goes well, I should have it ready to share by the end of the week. Cheers, Doc
