(Exclusive) The Rejected Star Trek Ad
Added 2024-05-10 14:41:01 +0000 UTCThis was the initial draft I presented to the Promotional Company. I like to push my luck sometimes with these, so I totally understand why they requested that change. But the rejection email they sent me was really "corporate," and I thought it was hilarious how they were trying to navigate saying "we don't want your friend on the toilet" without saying it.
I also understand their concerns that it might come off as mocking the promotional itself, so I was happy to make the change. But I thought it would be a shame if no one got to see it!
Here's the email:
"They were really impressed with most of it; however, they expressed some concerns about the depiction of the guy in the bathroom. Their feeling was that it seemed to mock the entire promotional concept rather than the product itself. While we at StreamElements genuinely appreciate the unique and personal touch you bring to your work, it’s also crucial for us to consider the client's perspective.
We understand the fine balance between creative expression and aligning with the client's vision, and we're confident in your ability to navigate this. Let's use this as an opportunity to refine the concept in a way that maintains your creative signature while also resonating well with the client's expectations.
Looking forward to your thoughts and the next steps. "
Enjoy!
