(Exclusive) Bad Batch Season 1 FINALE!

Comments

Oh for sure I agree. I was just curious if it was a copyright thing is all.

Well Season 2 dives head first into the greater issues surrounding the Clones. Remember they aren't as hard core into the Clones as some of us are

Dawson

Also I give people a pass for forgetting characters like Gregor. He was in 1 episode of Clone Wars and looks completely different in Rebels

Dawson

I thought there might be a lightbulb moment but it wasn't to be. That said, often times when you're (relative to when shows air) bingeing you can forget details & characters people have pored over and talked about for a week (& sometimes more) so I get it.

Sad they didn’t recognize him :((

AC5555

It’s kinda lost on Holden and Jen though. I don’t think they ever pay attention to non main characters specifically clones

AC5555

Dee Bradley Baker really flexing his vocal range in this show

Dawson

Did you notice how distressed the clones were when they were ordered to destroy Kamino? Listen to how that clone trooper reported to the admiral that Kamino was destroyed. He was stuttering, clearly struggling to process that he and his brothers just destroyed their home world.

@Kyle Hunter I was thinking the same thing. Crosshair saved Omega and then the reaction kind of just ended. No reaction to the platform scene where the batch leaves Crosshair or the scene where Mount Tantiss is shown for the first time. At the end of the day, it's not a huge deal though.

Man I’m old enough to remember when Holden and Jen were unimpressed by the clone heavy arcs of early clone wars! Now they’re broke up about Kamino’s fall. I think season 1’s strengths are its animation and strong familial relationships. Every episode is stunning to behold, and we buy into the dynamics between relatively new characters, particular one knew that never appeared in a movie. I think they toed the line between repeating the Mandalorian’s Lone Wolf and a cub dynamic (mando +Grogu), this was different enough even if they spent a lot of time protecting her. At times it felt like episodes were inserted for no reason. The Raxus episode and Cyd episode didn’t seem to add much. There also were a lot of cameos, which were delightful, but did seem frequent, at the expensive of developing Tech and even Echo. We like the team, but they were pretty tropey. I think I can happily report that Season 2 looks even better and corrects these weaknesses, AND steps up already mature writing to a (dare I say?) Andoresque level. This show, and Andor, are proof that GOOD STAR WARS STORIES can be told for adults, and without relying on Force shenanigans. No Skywalkers here, just a tour throughout an explored era of transition between Republic and Empire

season 2 is even better than season 1 for me. there’s some really phenomenal stuff coming.

Hesso

Ya no its the end of the last episode, 25:15 to 25:24, just seemed like alot got cut out to me.

Kyle Hunter

length wise seems fine. 23 mins avg for 2 eps. 31 for 3. confused?

Peter Amet

Crosshair seems to value strength over anything. He believes he is irreplaceable within the Empire... let's see what happens in Season 2, maybe there's an episode that's like a 10/10 master piece.... idk 🤷‍♂️

Dawson

More for the editor for this question, but the ending reaction for the season finale episode seemed super cut down. Was this due to copyright?

The "Proto Stormtrooper" armour in this episode is actually based on Ralph McQuarrie's Stormtrooper designs which can be seen in early concept art for the original Star Wars. This art work also inspired the Imperial recruits we see in Rebels which could link back to this the Empire just gave recruits old Stormtrooper helmets for training. It's just so cool seeing proto Stormtroopers and makes sense that they would have at least an early armour then maybe a year later get replaced by the iconic Stormtrooper armour we know and love. Also loved the original trilogy music throughout this episode heavily inspired by the music we hear on the Death Star in A New Hope when Luke and Han are trying to rescue Leia and of course the battle that takes place of them blasting their way out. Also those other soldiers with the blue visors are "Clone Commandos" with their own unique armour introduced in Republic Commando from 2005. All the Commandos are Clones who seemed to be recalled to this base to train the enlisted recruits who are just normal humanoids from across the galaxy. The Commando with the grey and yellow markings on his armour is Scorch a character from Republic Commando and a member of Delta Squad who cameoed in Clone Wars for like a 1 minute scene when they delivered the body of a Jedi to the Jedi Temple after they were killed by Savage. I loved that the V Wing (Fighters launched after the Bad Batch) has a little hint of the Tie Fighter sound a nice call back to Revenge of the Sith when two V Wings flew by the screen with the tie fighter sound. Hopefully we see Tie Fighters or at least a prototype in this series at some point but so far loving the proto Stormtrooper armour. Jedi Mandalore (Dylan)

I'm certain others will have mentioned it somewhere already but you've seen Gregor (the clone with the kooky voice) before. He's the one working as a dishwasher in TCW (the Mebur Gascon/droids arc) & is also on the tank-crawler with Rex & Wolfe in Rebels.
