Became a big fan of Rebecca Ferguson after this one. Such an action star herself. Elsa could have her own spin-off, like Furiosa in Max Max Fury Road. But we just have to enjoy what we have. Interesting discussion of your favorites and least faves of the series at the end. Everyone has their own preference it seems. Never seen two reviews that were the same for the entire series.

Damn. I have to say, I think this is Jen's hottest take by far. Very surprised by that.

This is definitely just the movie between 4 and 6. Nothing crazy but Fallout is definitely my favourite, Cavel is coming 😍

Giving Rebecca Ferguson a second movie to develop the character will (I imagine) boost her up the rankings. I actually thought Maggie Q and Paula Patton both brought a lot of charisma to the roles in 3 and 4, so although I agree I preferred Ilsa, I can see why somebody might like either of them more at first.

Wow Jen. This is either my favourite or second favourite with fallout being the other one. Im so surprised you like it the least.

Oh wow, Ilsa is actually my favorite female lead of this franchise by far. She and Julia are the only ones who had any character at all to me. I loved the shades of the Catwoman/Batman dynamic they had going here, and it was just nice to finally get a female agent that matches Ethan in both spycraft and general badassery. Will be curious to see how Jen feels about Fallout since Ilsa's the one that finally sticks around lol.

I agree, and that makes sense. My feeling on the movies was that 1 probably had the most similarities to the old TV show it was based on, then 2 and 3 were more experimental...and then with 4 they kind of hit on a formula...and then 6 really kicked that formula up a notch. I love 3, but that's in large part due to my appreciation of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who I thought really elevated every part of it he was in. I remember not liking 2 very much the first time I saw it, but I actually enjoyed it a little more rewatching when you guys did...probably because I knew more what to expect and could enjoy it for what it was.

It's also helps that we filmed pretty much all of these before release, so we didn't have any influence from commenters. 2 has a charm that I like and is certainly FUN. But I appreciate the rest of the franchise for going the more "serious route" and I find them all to be really fulfilling for sure.

people will have all different opinions on the MI movies I'm sure, but as far as vs. the 'common concensus' I think this one (generally well liked) and MI:2 (generally not) are where your opinions are falling farthest from the mainstream. But that's why it's interesting watching other people's opinions! :) The next one up is my current favorite!
