(Early Access) Andor Season 1 Finale!

Comments

Yes but the next season is covering four more years.

Nah it ain't Disney it's Lucasfilm. I think people need to release that Favreau and Kennedy are the problem 🤷‍♂️. Mainly Kennedy

Mon Mothma’s scenes, weak or not, still trumps the mid-quality star wars shows in recent years. I don’t think Davo proposing an arranged marriage between his son and Leida was supposed to be this huge surprise. To me, what made Mon Mothma’s arc gripping was that she is making the most difficult decision in her life; Mothma burned her relationship with her family. She threw her husband under the bus to cover up her financial activities, she sold her daughter to an arranged marriage to continue funding the rebellion. Mon Mothma sacrificed her heart for a cause that at the time, she wasn’t even sure will succeed. I feel like you missed that, but maybe you just didn’t discuss it and I wanted to chime in.

Well. Cinta did kill one of her spies. There’s a job opening for him.

There's 1 more season not 4 unfortunately Disney cut its legs off.

There’s a handful of things that didn’t come to a conclusion, but there’s four more years to the story arcs to get them. Looking forward to the next season!

Oh guys, the big thing with Mon Mothma in this season was her THROWING her pro empire husband RIGHT under the bus with the lies about him gambling to solve her problem with her past banking activity. Taking the heat off her for the missing money. The empire is still watching her and she’s going through the gangster to secure her future funding of rebellious causes. But it was some great game of thrones level maneuvering to protect herself and the rebellion.

Chris Moranec

I disagree that Mon Mothma's scenes are the same conversation over and over again. It's the same problem, there's a big hole in her finances where she funded the rebellion, but each scene is her trying to deal with that problem in a different way, and each shows a different aspect of what its like living under the empire. In her first scene with Luthen telling him she's too scared to move money around with all the spies watching everything. The people at the bank are spies, even her driver is a spy. That's what spurns the whole Aldani heist. In the scene with Tay Kolma she reveals her daily life as a senator is basically a performance, one she's even performing for her family. The scene with the loan shark Davo, not only is forced to work with someone she tests, but basically sell her own daughter as well. The scene in the car, where she feeds the ISB the information about her husband's gambling, basically covering her arse at the cost of straining her own marriage. I just think there's a lot to Mothma's scenes that might be lost on initial viewing. I appreciate the subtlety of them, and there's some cracking good dialogue. I particularly like "I've learned from Palpatine; I show you the rock in my hand, you miss the knife at your throat."

Thank you for the upload!! In contrast I love the mon mothma stuff. Just giving her more depth with her sacrifice for the rebellion, no wonder she's the leader of the rebellion.

Franz

Ironic that Cassian (unwilling and unknowingly) helped build the weapon that would kill him.

The funeral march was yet another beautifully put together scene. The camera panning from the Imperial side, to the oncoming crowd; the music built from discordant, off-key tune-up, to a somber beat, and culminating to a determined, uplifting crescendo…it’s all so well done Setting aside any story arc, what I take away most is how much care was put into this show. The use of these incredible locations as backdrops, the time spent with eve secondary characters, those inspiring speeches. They let actors, sets, and emotions breathe - we just don’t get this in Star Wars very often, instead settling for quipped dialogue and cuts from action to action without thought. Just look at how goo the CGI was in this show when they actually used it - Tony Gilroy refused to let the quality slide, and it shows. Andor just LOOKS better than any other Star Wars show It really is the antithesis to Mandalorian, Season 3, which felt so rushed in comparison.

After the Andor the Roque one hits different !!

I think the idea with Cyril's storyline was to show him proving to not only himself but everyone around him that he was capable of greater things despite the constant dismissal of his concerns. Saving Dedra at the end is likely the catalyst that allows him to step into a role in the Empire, likely at the ISB working with Dedra personally to catch Andor and Luthen.

Thank you guys!

It was always a big risk to take Star Wars in a different direction. The fans haven't been the most forgiving for lots of what Disney Star Wars has come out with. I love what they did with this show, though. It showed that you don't need a lightsaber or beskar armour to get things done, and while the Ahsoka and The Acolyte shows will probably be very focused on the Force side of things, I hope they will show some of the other philosophies and groups that can use it. I've read some of the books, played most of the games, and even in just the Force side of Star Wars, there's a huge expansive universe there to play with. So looking forward to season 2 of Andor. I hope it will show the missions Andor gets sent on, all the shades of grey and the darker deeds that being a Rebel requires of him.

I adore this show and how it made the Empire scary again

Take notes, this is how you do fan service. You have characters that are cameos but they make sense in the context of the show, for example Saw really didn't need to be in the show but he elevates and contrasts Luthans character. Also the death star "cameo" at the end, there were so many theories on what the prisoners were building and its the joints of the main panel. That's a really cool way to integrate something we all know. So much better than "omg it's lizo and Jack Black... I recognise them so this is good"...
