2023-04-17 14:52:17 +0000 UTCThe Trooper we see at the Dam are Imperial Army Troopers who act as the backbone of the Imperial Military that existed outside the Stormtrooper Corps. We rarely see them in the films often overshadowed by the Elite Stormtroopers. They did appear in Solo in the Battle of Mimban as Mudtroopers though this being the only time we've seen them on screen besides Andor.

I love how the empire is just terrifying in this show. This and Bad Batch have reestablished my love for the empire as a threat

2023-04-17 03:06:40 +0000 UTCEverything about this show is such a complete 180 from the Favreau/Filoni shows There is barely any connection to prior “lore” They film ON LOCATION, with practical sets, i believe in Scottland’s mountains and London’s airport. When they DO employ CGI, it is carefully chosen and refined to fit it’s purpose; Coruscant here looks a thousand times better than anything in Kenobi The sound IN the show, as heard by the characters, tells the story as much as the dialogue. There isnt a Jedi in sight. Order 66? What’s that? A SINGLE TIE FIGHTER is scariest shit they’ve ever seen. There are no campy one-liners, there are no green pirates shouting AVAST! Every character speaks in meticulously crafted sentences; between Mon Mothma and those she meets it’s all double speak, befitting a spy in the midst of the enemy capitol. Andor spits on the notion that “Star Wars” is for kids; this is Star Wars made as prestige TV. Its what we deserved And next episode features the most breath taking visuals in franchise history

This season begins 5 years before Rogue One, and each season is supposed to take place over about a year. There’s supposed to be five seasons. The creators have said the final shot of the show will be Andor getting on a ship heading for the mission we see him on at the beginning of Rogue One.

2023-04-17 01:54:38 +0000 UTCBefore I started episode six I actually told my wife “Let’s see if something actually happens this episode” I am usually for a slow burn for a good payoff but I was getting worn down and loosing interest. But, every ounce of this slow buildup… really begins paying off. Episode 6 was where I got hooked. Even rewatching all the ones I was initially “meh” about, I appreciate so much more of the details they laid out like bread crumbs. It’s all fantastic work.

2023-04-16 22:53:23 +0000 UTCStuff is going to happen. But try to just enjoy the show in the moment instead of just waiting for it to get to the “good” stuff. I think the payoff of the “good” stuff is so much better cos of all the story and world building. You’ll be more invested as opposed to if the show rushed into the “good” stuff. I think this show is the best thing Star Wars has done since Empire and that’s partly cos of what they do with it whilst it’s being “slow”. Just my thoughts.
