Remember when Jen was excited for Terminator? And now she's just fed up with the timeline 😂

Definitely worth checking out Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles series if you want some more terminator, it's a pretty good series.

I really enjoyed this movie. Story wise it's whatever but it's a fun ride and some really cool action scenes. Love Tommy as the bad guy in this.

A major plot point in the extend edition of T2 is that T-800’s have the capacity to learn and grow beyond their programing. In T2, this ability is turned off, but John and Sarah turn it back on in the deleted scene where they temporarily remove the T-800’s CPU. Also, remember that T-800s are designed to be infiltration units. Even in the real world, spies (ie infiltration units), go about living an ordinary life in where ever they’re posted until their activated. The T-800 in this movie would also have that same capacity to learn and grown. So, after it completed its mission (killed John) it went into a standby protocol, which is to live an ordinary life until it is activated for another missing. During living this life, the T-800 grows to like humanity (just like the T2 T-800 started to grow to be more human/father like after John/Sarah turned the ability on). This eventually grew to becoming close to a woman and her kid, which given its growth, the T-800 could appreciate what it took from Sarah when it killed John. The only big hole here is that this T-800’s capacity to grow/learn was presumably also turned off and they don’t address how the ability was activated. My head cannon is that the T-800’s programing causes the ability to be activated when it succeeds in its mission and enters standby infiltration mode, as the ability would be helpful for terminates that are embedded with humans. It’s just that killing John had changed the timeline so drastically, the now future evil AI (Legion) wasn’t aware of this T-800 so it was never given a new mission/activated, so it lived decades embedded with humanity…learning to appreciate human life.

Jen. This is the first terminator to fulfil its mission. So what happens when they do that? There’s nothing for it to do. You send a terminator back to kill someone. It won’t stop until it’s either destroyed or fulfils it’s mission. This is the first time we’ve seen one do the latter.

Hahaha, it’s so funny watching Holden explain Terminator time travel to Jen. I’m a nerd and didn’t realize how convoluted it is until I heard him explain it. Terminator is great, but I think it’s time to terminate the franchise.

You should 100% check out the video game Terminator: Resistance it's set in the original Future War the one Kyle Reese is from and where the original T-800s came from to kill Sarah and John Connor in Terminator 1 and Dark Fate. Timeline is pretty straight forward and it does an amazing job at leading up to Terminator 1 even having a bunch of Easter eggs to the first two Terminator films but fits more in tone with the first film. There's also a really cool DLC that connects right into T1 so I think you'd both enjoy it.
