2023-03-07 14:33:19 +0000 UTCKeep in mind Paul St is likely referring to the new trilogy of Timothy Zahn Thrawn novels. I believe it starts with "Thrawn: Ascendancy. Chaos Rising." Timothy Zahn also wrote the original Thrawn novels and was brought back to reintroduce him into the new canon after disney purchased the IP. Both are a good series of novels, with the new canon ones really feeling like it's leading up to the Thrawn we meet in Rebels, but I prefer the originals personally, albeit they are now a bit defunct.

2023-03-06 14:18:05 +0000 UTCEpisode 18 - "Secret Cargo" Starting to see the formation of the Rebel Alliance which is really cool an event that happened in 2 BBY just over two years before the events of A New Hope. We also see Gold Squadron as well in this episode who we last saw in Rogue One at the Battle of Scarif followed by A New Hope and the attack on the Death Star. Gold Squadron is made up of Y Wings so I guess we now know where they got those bombers in the movies. Also not sure if someone else has mentioned this but the Tie Defender was first introduced in Star Wars: TIE Fighter (1994) a really solid flight simulator where we played as the Empire using a wide range of ships from the movies and the extended universe. One of the ships created for the game was The Defender a ship that heavily connected to Thrawn who also appeared in the game just a few years after his Thrawn Trilogy of Novels released. So it makes sense that with the introduction of Thrawn in Rebels they'd also bring over the Tie Defender fitting it into canon.

I really like Kalus cause they didn't Rush him defecting to the Rebels and he is shown even as a villain to be competent so its a big deal when he defects. And Ap is me watching this show, just fed up of the main cast 🤣

2023-03-06 11:42:27 +0000 UTCThe voice actress for Mon Mothma also played the character in live-action form in Episode III (her scene was deleted but is available to watch, and she shows up as a background character in the theatrical release), Rogue One and Andor. The ISB officer Yularen in the first episode in this batch also appeared in live-action form in Andor. The Tie Defender is the tie fighter I mentioned a couple weeks ago. It was introduced in the early 90’s in the PC game “Tie Fighter”, which has Grand Admiral Thrawn take over the Tie Defender project. Rebels with the deep cuts.
