2023-01-31 02:43:46 +0000 UTCBoth games, ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘The Last of Us Part ll’ are perfect in my opinion. The stories they tell are very dark and will really challenge the viewer/gamer, yet the messages and themes that they convey are so poignant and powerful that I can’t believe we’ve been blessed with getting an HBO adaptation. Having only seen the first three episodes at the time of writing this, I can say without a doubt that Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey were made for the roles of Joel and Ellie. I should also mention that Neil Druckmann, the creative director for both games, is one of the co-creators of this show. What him and Craig Mazin (the other co-creator of the show) have done so far has been nothing short of brilliant. Anyways, I’m so glad you guys decided to give this show a shot. I can’t wait to see episode four as well as your reactions! EDIT: Personally, I thought the opening sequence with the talk show was one of the scariest parts of the episode. I know that a lot of people tend to equate exposition as being bad or lazy, but if it is conveyed in a way that is well written, I don't really mind it. In this case, I thought the scene was executed brilliantly even though, I will admit, it definitely dropped a lot of information at the viewer at once.
