FIFA 21 Next Generation
Added 2020-12-04 02:06:32 +0000 UTCHow to upgrade to the FIFA 21 new generation:
XBOX: XBOX > Store > Search FIFA 21 Beckham Edition [or on the main menu you may have the XBOX Series S / X version]
PS5: PS > PS Store > Search for FIFA 21 and then Beckham Edition free upgrade should come up
In terms of upgrading to the next generation, the biggest question was could you play people on the previous gen. It has come to my attention now that if you go over the game, and press the "options" button on your controller, you should see Game Version, and you can switch between the PS4 & PS5 Version (and its the same for XBOX to my knowledge). So therefore in theory you have two editions of the game.
How to Download and Switch between next generation & standard editions (tutorial video)
Here is a quick video showing you where to download it on PS5 and how to switch between the different editions, XBOX is the same method.

I couldn't download the game or cant download the update, has this been fixed?
There was an initial issue with downloading the next generation upgrade on the play station 5, whereby if you tried to download the game, a message appeared that you "already owned the game". This has seemed to be fixed and you are now able to download it.
What is the main differences for next generation & are the tutorials after this date on next generation?
In terms of the changes, its mainly graphics you will see this in the menus in terms of next text and in-game mainly in terms of models, in particular the animations of the crowd and player models, the game may appear a tad bit smoother, but there are still changes that will come eventually, including potentially even higher frame rates in the future.
In regards to the tutorials, all new tutorials will be recorded on the next generation, that is why you may have seen more direct tutorials such as FIFA Shortcuts and FIFA Pre-School.
As I wanted to create FIFA school with the new animations on next generation, as last years tutorials were almost 90% applicable, this year as I mentioned we will have a different approach, a more refined yet streamlined way with training courses, but with the new gameplay, you will see the controller settings later on today, which includes information about the haptics of the controller.
