Season 2 of Rebels is all over the place. It has some of the highest highs in Star Wars but it also has some very low points.

Team Rocket(the 2 new Inquisitors) are so bad. They can't do anything. Also love Hondo he is always a gem

Dawson

Not sure if you realized, Greggor is the clone from the D Squad Arc, him being crazy is a side effect from the explosion

You've seen the green skinned inquisitor before, in Kenobi. He's the Fifth Brother.

You guys should watch the Lego Star Wars holiday special. One of the best peices of Star Wars content. Under an hour. No rebels spoilers

I would've never thought I'd see a Republic AT-TE Walker go up against AT-AT's outside of games like Empire At War and mods for Battlefront 2 but this show did that showcasing that Republic equipment is still around and usable at the time of the Empire. Jedi Fallen Order also featured Saw Gerrera's men using the LAAT gunship against the Empire while games like Battlefront 2 (2005) featured Rebel LAAT gunships that you could use in space combat which makes since the Yellows use old Clone Wars era Y Wings why wouldn't they use a badass gunship like the LAAT. stuff like this is what I would love to see more creators removing that invisible line between eras. Also on the topic of mixing Clone Wars and Age of Rebellion era I love how we hear a mix of Clone Wars music such as the Clone theme to Original Trilogy music. Kevin Kiner doesn't get enough credit with his amazing work on Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch. The abandoned Republic medical station we see in EP5 is also known as a Haven-class Medical Stations the same stations we saw in The Clone Wars such as the Malevolence story arc that featured Anakin and a squadron of Y Wing's attacking the Malevolence before it fired on a Republic medical station filled with Clones. There's no signs that point to these being the same station but once the Empire came to power several of these medical stations were abandoned. I'm really glad Rebels introduced us to The Inquisitorius, Inquisitorius Program, the Order of Inquisitors, Saber Bros, the Imperial Inquisition. From my understanding they were first mentioned in the Star Wars Sourcebook back in 1987 as Dark Agents who worked for the empire a secret division of Imperial Intelligence with no connection to Jedi or the force. It wasn't until Rebels that the Inquisitors were expanded upon and became what we see today in shows, novels, games, and live action shows former Jedi who became Dark Side users with the goal of hunting down Jedi Survivors.

Even “fun, side stories” like E6 are generally harmless fun at worst; they still establish some elements that will be play out to some degree later. Here, we get Visago still around, Azmorgan as a low level repeat jobber villain, and…Clone Wars season 5 MVP, Hondo. He’s older, a bit more mellowed out, and definitely down on his luck, it I think he likes Ezra because he remembers the Jedi fondly, and Ezra is a pure prospect unburdened by the Polotics of the Jedi back in the Republic era. You don’t introduce HONDO for one episode, though… You caught the voice actress (SMG) for 7th Sister - it’s a delightful note that she’s working on the same show as FPJ. 5th Brother was in KENOBI, albeit very poorly translated. Other than the hat, they didn’t capture the look at all. Like Rex said, he ain’t going down to one squad of stormtroopers. If you wanna kill him, you better bring all of them.

For me personally, what makes 'Rebels' work as a show is the main cast of characters. They're all so varied and unique (with different motivations for why they are helping to fight against the Empire) that even episodes that you would think are "filler" help serve a greater purpose whether that be character development or plot progression. I think that the episode you guys just watched with Hondo was a perfect example of that. The episode, while showcasing a side-adventure, helps show how far Ezra has come as a character since the show started. I love that the episode shows an alternate path that Ezra could have gone down had he chose not to join Kanan and the crew. It's his ultimate rejecting of Hondo and his lifestyle that shows that he is beginning to grow up and mature, and that he can amount to great things other than just being a street rat (which of course is where his journey had him begin at). While not every episode is going to show an amazing and life-altering event, I think the simplicity of some of the episodes help enrich a galaxy that so often we see as only focusing on the big and grand-scale moments. I truly believe that because of that, when you do finally get to moments that are big and grand, they hit so much harder than they would have otherwise.
