FIFA 20 Defending with CDMs - When to be aggressive, when to back up?

Thanks @nealguides. I just played someone who put constant pressure on me right out the gate and he stole the ball a couple times. I then switched to Hug the Line, went up 2-0, and within 5 minutes he quit on me. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I learn something from you every day.

Massive ggs for implementing and noticing this! I find that people learn actually the most from these and yes being calm is hard, truthfully I was always calm but this year I do get agitated! Its always better to be safe than sorry, especially towards the end - never give your opponent a chance and give him the upper hand by taking unnecessary risks

3 things I took away from this video. 1) Your composure. You were able to talk us through your thoughts and act so calmly while playing a tough match. I find myself saying a hundred curse words and tuning everything out in these type matches :) 2)Hugging the line. I started implementing this upon getting pressured and it has worked 1000%. Super helpful tip. This one tactic spreads the ball out and my opponent unable to get to my players as quickly. Really appreciate this tip as it is something I never would have known when to use and therefore would have never implemented in my game. Guarantee this has helped me keep possession and win games. 3) Being more conservative while winning in close games. You pulled your CDMs back near end of game. I've used this a few times since watching this. I haven't noticed a difference yet but this tactic makes me more aware not to constantly fight to win a goal when I'm up in a close game and take unnecessary risks.
