I didn't mind them killing Bond off and it worked in the arc Craigs portrayal, but I think it does risk creating a sort of one-upmanship now where every person to play Bond will be expected to have a big emotional farewell and possibly be killed off in a heartbreaking way. Honestly, I think a case could be made for not killing Bond off until you are FULLY done with the character and moving on with a new one - for example, i'd have absolutely no problem with a series of movies starring Ana De Armas' show stealing Paloma.

2022-11-26 15:45:15 +0000 UTCSome of the big James Bond fans don't like this movie due to them killing James Bond which never happened in any other movie, but since Craig's Bond had its own arc and they ARE going to bring another James Bond actor to play in new movies, I was fine with it and it's such a well done movie. I love the first 20 minutes, there were even slight hints that Madeline was pregnant which is only really more obvious on second watch-through, and Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux had a much better chemistry than in Spectre.

2022-11-25 23:28:29 +0000 UTCI’ve always been a James Bond fan, but I’ll just say it. Daniel Craig is the best Bond. I know that’s probably going against the dogma for some. I also liked how the Craig movies together told a complete James Bond story. They never really did that in the previous movie runs. I’m actually pretty interested in the new James Bond. It will have to be someone in their “30s” so they can carry a 4 to 5 movie run. Plus they can’t be too famous. The one thing I would like is for them to map out the movie run from the beginning and not wing it. Also maybe do just a tiny bit more origin story in the first movie maybe while he’s on his first 00 mission, he has flashbacks through being recruited from SAS or regular MI6 for the 00 program.I do know that Daniel Craig said he doesn’t care about the new James Bond, but they need to improve on it.

In my opinion, while I love 'Casino Royale' and 'Skyfall' a lot (they are both 10/10 movies), this one just hits different for me in a way that left me very emotional. While the antagonist of the film, Safin, was just okay, I thought what they did with Bond's character more than made up for it. In fact, I thought they did such a good job concluding Bond's character arc that this is actually my favorite of the Daniel Craig era of films. I know most people won't agree with me on that, and that is perfectly okay, but man, what a way to end a fantastic run of movies. Whoever plays Bond next, they have big shoes to fill.
