FIFA School - Episode 7 - Jockeying Movement/Positioning

In Episode 7, I explain why its important to consider which players your opponent is using. The initial screen you can gather a lot of information about you opponents in particular to which direction they will mostly commit to.

The idea is just to get a basic understand of how I defend and my specific movements, and why positioning is important, always take into account which player your opponent has selected and what weak foot they have. Defending depends on the players that your opponent has selected, if your opponent has a weak foot, try to push them on their weak foot or down the wing away from danger. Players who have a 5* weak foot are really hard to defend against, as you probably experienced the reason why is because they can go either side, and its almost 50/50 chance of defending the correct direction, whereas someone who has a low star weak foot are more likely to cut inside or force the ball onto their strong foot before they take a shot.

Its important to go over this before we get into more elaborate defensive tutorials, just so you get a basic understanding on why players are positioned in a certain way, and why its used to deter opponents or forcing them in awkward angles. In this example we talk about shooting towards goal, but this can be taken to any aspects of the game including passing.

Main Aspects: Jockeying, Defending the goal, weak foot, running jockey
