(Early Access) MGFW X-Men: First Class

I don't understand you at all. IMO this is the strongest of the four X-Men movies that were out at the time. It's not a perfect movie, but the original trilogy is so weak with so much nonsense. The third movie completely forgetting that Cyclops exists after he was murdered for example. Or rogue's boyfriend being a dick for no reason. Not to mention that the weak characterization in this movie is much worse in the original trilogy. Apart from Wolverine you barely know any of the characters. The primary bad thing about this movie, is how they ran the franchise into the ground with the last 2 movies, after Days of Future Past being so awesome. Btw, when you get to Deadpool 2, I'd recommend the Christmas edition "Once Upon a Deadpool" if you haven't seen it. It has less swearing to edit out, and some amusing extra scenes.

I love the timeline solving. I don’t care that much. I just really am a big fan of the X-men and I can’t wait until something happens with them again in the MCU. I know they’ll do a good job with them. It’s just a matter of how they’ll explain it.

John Martinez

It’s really messy but the whole franchise is pretty messy for the X-men in general. Hopefully mcu get the characters right.

The dude evolved fighting Hela lol yet Shaw kills him first 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Acash33

not true what so ever... just rumors bro

Deadpool

What ? Days of future past is a soft reboot of first class and a continuation of the first trilogy ? Yeeeeaahhhh kinda. Except it doesn't negate anything in X-Men Fisrt Class and its only purpose was to erase X3 from the timeline (and for that they also erased X1 and X2). But, to be fair they'll keep messing with the timeline to the point that it won't make any sense at all anymore.

In the comics, Azazel (the red devil guy) is Nightcrawler's father while Mystique is his mother. Also the problem with Darwin dying so quickly is not what he represents in the comics it's more that is power is to evolve instantly to adapt and survive... Basically he is unkillable, the writers thinking that he could die that way shows their lack of imagination.

Let's go! this is my personal favorite x-men movie

First off, I think yall should peep The Wolverine sequel before DoFP, as it connects to Last Stand. And go for the extended version, too, hah. Second, I have to agree on your thoughts about First Class. I think a lot of people think really highly of it but outside of the Erik/Charles stuff it was incredibly forgettable. All the new characters were under-developed and their powers were straight up laughable. The hula hoop gag got me good because its so true, lol. And the sonic screaming, I think, ALWAYS looks dumb. Its a stupid power. Mystique's dilemma was interesting but I agree that she didnt really play the character in an interesting way [if that makes sense]. I never was impressed with this one

This was well put. Its messy no doubt. But i dont think its as messy as some have made it seem.

X-Men films have two timelines that split in 1973. Any movies/scenes prior the 1973 are shared between the two timelines. Shared continuity: 1. First Class (primarily 1962) [Also any scenes from other movies set before 1973, such as early scenes in Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine] Original Timeline: 2. Origins: Wolverine (primarily 1979) 3. X-Men (2000’s) 4. X-2 (2000’s) 5. Last Stand (2000’s) 6. The Wolverine (2010’s) 7. Parts of Days of Future Past (mid-2020’s) New Timeline: 7. Parts of Days of Future Past (primarily 1973) 8. Apocalypse (May 1983 [because Return of the Jedi was just released]) 9. Dark Phoenix (primarily in 1992, but flashback to 1975 is also in the new timeline) 10. Deadpool (2010’s) 11. Deadpool 2 (2010’s) [7. Epilogue from Days of Future Past (mid-2020’s)] 12. The New Mutants (mid-2020’s) 13. Logan (2029)

Moreover, The Wolverine is a direct sequel to The Last Stand. It’s all about Logan dealing with his grief over what happened in The Last Stand. Also, as you note, the post-credits scene in The Wolverine leads into Days of Future Past.

Nick

The end of last stand isnt ignored? They adress it in the post credits of The Wolverine and Days of Future Past. Its not perfect but those two movies are definitely sequels to the last stand.

We had subtitles when we watched it but couldn't get them on the digital copy we show.

Holden Hardman

i wonder if their version had subtitles or not, and maybe the one see just doesnt

Everest

Many of the X-men characters will show up in Dr. strange 2. That’s many of the reasons for the reshoots. A lot of them are showing up, the question sis which ones the original one or the 1st class actors but they will show up.

theres a ton of non english scenes in this reaction that are missing subtitles.
