(Early Access/Extended Reaction) My friend watches Batman v Superman

Here you go everyone! This is actually a slightly extended version of our reaction. It's only about 7 minutes longer than the one that will be public. We had a long conversation about this one, and we watched the Ultimate Edition.

Fitting we have an alternate/extended version of the reaction for the extended cut of the film.

Here is the video that will be posted on YouTube, since I know a few of you guys like to get some comments in early. Don't forget to leave the video a like!

(Early Access/Extended Reaction) My friend watches Batman v Superman

Comments

The snyder cut trailer explains that line " the bell has been rung, and they have heard it" and he knew because the kryptonian ship taught him.

But I didn't really like Batman vs Superman, its a great idea but the finished product just did not add up for me. I do hope you guys at least watch Wonder Women before the Snyder Cut because I thought it was the best out of all the DCEU movies.

First off, how dare you Holden for expressing your emotions during Man of Steel and ruining the movie for everyone else lol. In all seriousness you were watching a movie with your friends that no one thought was very good and were making very funny wise cracks. Whenever were with our friends watching a movie we always goof off so I thought those comments were stupid.

I watched this movie on my own last night [getting myself prepped for the Snyder Cut, putting myself in the Snyder frame of mind I guess!] so it was neat to see all of your reactions right after! This is an interesting movie in how its so divisive. Overall I DO like this movie but, yeah, there's so much that doesnt jive with me. But I DO like it! I've rewatched it quite a bit, even. But this movie would be REALLY great.... if it DIDNT have Lex Luthor. They're portrayal of the character was just odd but even that wasnt *really* the problem. Its just that he ultimately didnt really contribute anything of value to the story. I feel like his character and his story was really only inserted so that we'd have a reason for Doomsday and thus a way to kill Superman. Him finding the Kryptonite that Batman would steal? Batman coulda just found it on his own. He had the resources, and he'd definitely have the reason to be scouring the remains of the Kryptonian wreckage. But the whole elusion that he was the one pulling the strings was really weak BECAUSE the reason for Batman and Superman clashing was, like you said, already there from the get-go! And it was a completely natural conflict! But yeah, he was a bit of a waste and only contributed to convolute things even more. Didnt like him. Movie coulda been just fine without him. Would Superman have even died at the end? Probably not. But does he really need to??? Hmm... You could argue yes because its portrayed like his death is the catalyst for Darkseid/Steppenwolf in the next one. But I dont think his existence would've held them back either way. But thats getting more into JL stuff. I thought the first 2/3 of the movie was awesome. Loved the building conflict between Batman and Superman. Loved all the philosophical stuff being discussed on the TV interviews throughout. Even the governmental side of it. But as soon as Lex became a more prominent figure in the story it started to lose me. And then "Martha." I get the intent and the idea, there needed to be SOMETHING to reconcile the two characters but it didnt feel natural and the shift was way too big to feel earned. And then Doomsday was just an excuse to bring the Trinity together and a contrived way to kill Superman. You could feel that it was the solution for the studio pressuring Zack to just "get to the team-up because Avengers just came out and we need Justice League ASAP." But I feel for Zack. This movie was forced to be a LOT of things and I think he did admirably. Did it pull it off? In my opinion, not so much. But I DO appreciate his take on the characters overall. I think its very much "the cool thing" to hate on him and I know there's a lot of people REALLY looking to see the Snyder Cut fail that I think is pretty unfair. But he had a vision! And a lot of it, from the broad strokes that i've heard, sounded pretty interesting! But I think ultimately just a little too far from what general audiences would prefer. Its just a shame that WB became SO reactionary because they've been fumbling from this movie on just TRYING to catch a shadow of the success of the Marvel movies. And boy does it show

When Holden said I need a horse and looked at Jen 😂 thats the kind of content I come here for lol , never change Holden. Im a bit sad you wont be doing Wonder Woman and Aquaman before Snyder cut, i think it would give the group a better feel for it and enjoy the new Justice League more. Everything else is fine skipping for later, first WW and Aquaman were best of the bunch.

Please explain to matt what the snyder cut is. because the loss of his daughter is the only reason why Zach is doing the Snyder cut. Even at the end of the movie its gonna say "for autumn"

Holden, I don’t know if it helps you more if I like/comment on the video when it’s uploaded on YouTube or when it’s on here. So what I’ll do, as long as I’m able to do it, is like/comment the video on one platform then copy/paste it to the other one. This way it’s on both. I remember enjoying this movie but there are aspects of it that I don’t like. I don’t want to get into it now but overall I felt there were more positives than there were negatives. My favorite part of the movie is Wonder Woman. From someone who grew up with Lynda Carter I was very impressed with Gal Gadot’s version.

Holden regarding the build up to the fight, if it wasn’t for it, Bruce would’ve never prepped to fight Superman with kryptonite. I never thought about it, but it seems the hatred was needed to drive him to prep for him. If he didn’t Superman would’ve just squashed him lol

Batamus

Is it just me or is the background music very loud at 50:39?

Braxen

I've never read any of the comics or watched any of the series, maybe that's why I think this version of lex luthor is pretty good

Braxen

Loved it! Haven't yet really gotten into the DCEU. So this is a fresh view and definitely makes me think about starting to watch them :)
