I think the opinion comparing The Avengers characters to the 5 Stages of Grief was brilliant and it never really occurred to me. In that same context, I think you could also say that a running theme of the MCU is how the characters deal with guilt.

Btw, "worthy" is a binary condition. Yes or no. Not "sort of worthy".

Also, I remember all through phase one, loving what Marvel was doing with their movies: Being faithful to the comics, not worrying if yellow spandex would fly with general audiences, Iron Man was red and gold, Red Skull... was a RED SKULL. Even watching the first Avengers, I still would not believe that at some point they would make an actual Infinity Gauntlet film, and if they did, they would surely drop the ball. By the time we got to Infinity War, we had seen Ego the Living Planet, Uatu the Watcher, a hint of Adam Warlock... I was ready for anything, bring me Eternity and the Living Tribunal, and yet... I did not think they would do THE SNAP. And they did, and it was AMAZING. That was enough for me, they could do whatever they wanted with Endgame, they had done enough on my book, there were too many balls in the air, I would not have judged them hardly if they let a few drop along the way. But they did it! They stuck the landing, and in What Way! Letting each character shine for a bit, bringing in past and dead characters, ending decade spanning character arcs with such gravitas, with such love for the material, and with love and respect for the fans. I love Endgame because of all the films that lead up to it, but also, BECAUSE of those films, the expectations, the reasons why it should not have worked; I love it so much more. Kind of how I feel about this episode and this series. :) Great job Holden, great job everyone.

I haven't even made it past the opening skit yet and this already amazing!

"Artists use lies to tell the truth". This bit from V for Vendetta (which I would love to see you guys react to sometime in the future) always comes to mind for me, when you think too rationaly about movies and their plots (i.e. nitpicking). You are experiencing a story told, not a documentary. The artists (the moviemakers, writers, actors and everyone involved) are always "lying" to you, but they do it purposedly to make you feel true feelings and live through real emotions. If you look too closely for things to nitpick, you are not really doing the "gotcha" to the creators, but you are denying yourself the whole intended experience. I get that this is sometimes very hard to do (obvious lazy writing is a real thing), and I also do it regularly. But I try to let go of the need to rationalize works of art as much as I can. Anyway, I loved the series right from the first time I saw the Iron Man Reaction and after watching the Endgame video just now, I decided to finally sign up for Patreon and support my first channel ever. Thanks for the journey and the many more trips to come. I'm looking forward to ride shotgun with you guys in the future. Greetings from Germany

I don’t think Cap using the hammer was cheap at all. Cap knew about Bucky killing Tony’s parents during Age of Ultron let’s not forget that. So even though Joe said he was always worthy the writing says otherwise in my opinion since Tony’s parents have always been something that was a cause for how flawed he was. At the end of the day I think cap did evolve more than just not trusting the government. Also the hammer was used by cap and Beta Ray Bill in the comics so knowing that lessens the fact that someone else is using it. Btw after seeing Endgame I went back and saw when Odin takes away the hammer the first time and I just really love Thor’s journey so much. After everything it would be cool if Matt watches those extra videos of what Thor was doing during civil war 🤣

I had just gotten up to help my fiance get ready for work at 2 AM when I saw that the video was live. Instead of going back to bed like normal I just had to watch the video. It's now almost 4 and I don't regret it. In all of the moments I teared up at during my initial viewing of Endgame, I teared up again not because of the moment in the movie, but because of Matt loving the same moment and feeling what I did in my first viewing. Just like with the MCU, this video feels like the culmination of this series. Also like with the MCU, it doesn't mean I'm done with it and I'm still on the edge of my seat waiting for what both Marvel Studios and Holden Hardman have next for us.

Great job, Holden! This movie was also a 10 for me. As a huge Cap fan, I remember almost hyperventilating in the seconds leading up until him calling out "Avengers Assemble!". I remember yelling in exaltation when he used the hammer. I saw both moments coming and was so pumped just the same. It was exactly what I wanted. And any art that can take me from excitement to wonder to laughter to fear to elation and down to crushing sadness back to laughter in the span of 10 minutes is something to appreciate greatly.
