Massive loss of popularity and why that's okay
Added 2024-03-23 16:38:29 +0000 UTCI will be writing a long blog post about this later, so watch out for that!
In January, my popularity on DeviantArt suddenly plummeted. I am not sure exactly what caused this. Though I suspect it is something to do with the algorithm and a decline in quality of my work. Whereas I could expect 20-30 thousand views for each of my deviations, I was suddenly getting 5-10 thousand. Whereas my watcher count was steadily growing, suddenly it grew at a snail's pace.
I cannot lie that this was quite depressing, and so it made it harder to write. I started thinking of ways to get more views on my work and it wasn't positive. It wasn't by producing something better.
After a long amount of reflection, I have realised that my goal has always been to produce higher quality content. And that is what I will do, even if it means less content or much less popular content. Everything needs to be interesting, well-written and effective. I will ensure this happens.
More to come soon.

Happy to hear from you again. I personally can't detect any loss of quality. I've always liked your work over the months. I hope we hear from you soon again.
