Thank you for your support!

Editing to add a little more background story, now that I'm not a morning tiredperson:

On this week's VIM LIVE we talked about rituals, and I talked about one of my current manufactured rituals which is to try to go on a walk at lunch time and identify a new thing in the world (tree, plant, bird, bug, whatever) to write down in my stuff identification book.

Every week we have homework, and M gave me the homework to add more ritual to it by singing a magic incantation to my new find.

So when I found a spider made a home on my couch overnight, and right on the part of the couch I spend a lot of time sitting on every day, I took a moment to identify it and then come up with a story and ritual incantation for it, which I put on Lens.

The story was that funnel-web spiders suck all the negative energy out of the room and into their web to be devoured and destroyed and make you happy, if you sing them this song:

Funnel-web spider / Make my burdens lighter / Please devour / Bittersweet and sour

This simple act of attention-paying then gave me the inspiration to make a video about my new spider friend, when the following day I was trying to think "what is a video I could make right now and have out tomorrow?". Luckily my spider friend was still there!

The other ingredient is that I've thought before about doing a video about a different kind of spider web and its shape and how its formed, if I ever did some "math in our world"-type videos. So now that one's still on the list, and part of a series of spidermath videos, I guess!

I will probably eventually really want those closed captions! Though hopefully by then there will be an app for that anyway ...

Hey Vi, I like this video style! Obviously not as in-depth as your longer ones, but fun, interesting, and educational, and still exhibiting the incredibly pleasant cadence of your voice and your humour ("'cuz spiders") and weird thoughts. As a less expensive (time- and resource-wise) video to create, I think this approach is worth pursuing! :)
